Whiteface Website Redone (and Gore continues to be the crappiest website out there)

I apologize if this was already noted here, but I just visited the Whiteface website (with the hope that they were going to announce the start of snowmaking) and noticed that they totally revamped it. I think it looks great. Very slick and makes good use of the mountain's stats and history.

On another note, checked the Gore website and it continues to be as cheesy and childish as ever. I don't really get their "more gore" theme (other than the fact that it rhymes). Also, it looks very childish and the colors and design look like they were designed by a hippy. As people who've read my posts know, I'm a big fan of gore, so this is by no means gore bashing. I actually like it slightly more than whiteface. However, they really need to redesign the trailmaps and the website. It's just not up to par.

What's even stranger is that Gore and Whiteface are both run by orda. Why would Orda hire someone to do such great work on the Whiteface website and totally ignore the Gore disaster of a website?

Rant off.

Meh. I don't think the Gore website is that bad, but it does seem a little plain. I agree that I would expect Whiteface's and Gore's to be the same or at least similar, but maybe they are trying to ensure separate identities.

I always found Tremblant's site to be overwhelming. It's like they are trying to cram three resort's worth of information into one site, especially with all the accommodations. Plus, it's always changing, so I felt like I was always having to reacquaint myself with everything. No biggie. Personal preference and all that :)

You got me curious so I looked at the Gore Website...the menus are animated very nicely--and honestly...I like what I can do with their trailmap....There are much worse trailmaps out there online for other resorts.....

My bad. I didn't explain what I meant about the trail maps. I meant the actual physical trail maps. There's nothing wrong with the map itself, BTW. It's just the childish purple graphics and the more gore motto. They also have drawings of little kids and it just looks like Mount Peter's trail map. The actual depiction of the trails themselves is fine, both online and in the physical trail map.

Gore's site is GREAT compared to Belleayre's, which looks like something I would have created 10 years ago in school.

I don't like Whiteface new website. Very old school. Very hard to read the trail map (even on the pdf version). If you can't provide a readable skier's map to begin with, that's not a good sign.
