55 minute commute took 2 hours and 35 minutes. I was already committed at the hour mark so I just kept going. Had a frightening slide down a side road with cars wrecking all around me but I made it fine. The u-joints are failing on my Jeep so the 4WD is temperamental and I have to shift out of it on sharp turns. Made for a fun ride. Not.

i keep a stash in the garage but its a little low, hence he's going out for more..

i've always been afraid to store firewood in the basement, old wive's tales about it bringing bugs in.. u ever have issues?

the wood we had delivered was pretty clean. we see an occasional winged thing flying around. so far no issues though. when i eventually build a nice woodshed outside i will discontinue storing in the basement.

The green/red/silver lines weren't too bad from Copley to the convention center in Boston this AM - too bad I didn't look at my convention guide as I showed up at 9 looking to walk around all the vendors booths before the course i'm taking today - problem is the vendors booth areas didn't open until 10! DOH!!!!!!

Since you won't be skiing this weekend, I'm counting on that coastal storm making a hard left and heading West just in time for the weekend.

i'll take driving in 3 feet of snow over that disaster. 1/3" or so of flash frozen death out there.

holy crap.

Amen Bro.

Today sucked...90 minutes to the office, a trip that usually takes 25 min.

Fact is, most folks are clueless about driving on slippery terrain. I counted 32 cars off the road or involved in accidents on 84 alone, including a 12 car pileup and some bozo in a Volvo who managed to stuff his car onto an embankment at a greater than 45 degree angle.

My wife's driving down from Boston now, just got on 84 South (almost to the CT border). Says it's near total whiteout. While talking to her (bluetooth, don't worry), she said "Shit- what was that? There's another one. What are those, sticks? Am I on the road? I'm not on the road. And neither is the guy in front of me or the one behind. Better get back on the road."

The crappy ride continued on the way home... It's almost as if the road crews are vacation this week...

Had to hit the store tonight... It snowed a few inches and people leaving the ski hill were driving like idiots.. Couple cars in the ditch... My 5 minute drive took 20... because some guy in a mustang could barely move...

Bright side is - i made a killer meatloaf...

I heard 84 was bad...and 91 was a parking lot on both sides of Fartford. I got home before it started to snow. Then again, I take all back roads.

Traffic was almost to a standstill on route 8, and there wasn't even whiteout conditions...

I was ahead of the snow this morning heading to the office but drove through the snow squalls this afternoon on my way up to Mohawk. Didn't IMHO run into anything that was "white knuckle" or slippery for that matter and I was even driving a rear wheel drive pickup truck. Scariest part of the driving today was getting behind folks in panic mode traveling well below the speed limit on wet roads while randomly braking without warning! :uzi:

Wow, drove through the squall on my way WA. There was lightening and then white. Dropped about an inch in 10 minutes. My 45 min drive to WA took over an hour because everyone was either freaked out or off the road.
