Yup

I'm going to Loon as soon as I finish this post. The new trail Ripsaw was opened around noon and cold or not I figure if I'm not doing anything else I should go ski it.

Yesterday was a chilly day too but the skiing was superb. So quiet too, an added bonus.

I spent the morning at Blue Mountain in PA. I'd never been to the "true mountain" before. Was 2 degrees at the top this morning. But no wind and the sun was shining. Clearly not as bitter as the Castkills or New England.

Snow conditions were outstanding. Did duck into the lodge once to warm up, though..

It was -20 at 8:30 this morning. Good excuse to stay inside.

I went out this afternoon to my home mountain of Hidden Valley, I only had about 2 hours to ski anyway because of my son's schedule. I skied for 1 1/2 hours and then called it quits. Since I'm in Jersey, the heart of the "banana belt" it was a balmy 10 degrees.

I was at Blue yesterday and, yes, the conditions were outstanding yesterday too.

Much ado about nothing. I took this at around 11:30 this morning at the top of Killington. It was colder in the parking lot than at the top.

Arrived at Plattekill around 10. It had warmed to -8, but very little wind. (No such thing as bad weather just bad clothing) No crowd and outstanding snow. Unfortunately the double wasn't running (saving that side for the wknd.?) Hiked over twice and skied Freefall and Plunge. Both have been groomed top to bottom. Very strange to ski cord. over there. Ducked out around 2 as the winds picked up. Should be an exceptional wknd.

Gunstock for about 3 hours. It was pretty deserted until after school let out and some race teams showed up. Lot's of fleece and wool layers, neck gaiter, and a fleece hat under my helmet. And mittens, time to break out the mittens! The only part that was cold were my thumbs.
