Very cool! Nice of you to volunteer your time.

Can you imagine the gross hum of sucking spit in that gym tomorrow though?

I literally carried the large almost "moonshine still" looking like vessel that serves as the primary component for the suction system off the 18 wheeler this AM!

The funny/ironic thing, is that in the building were in, the OLD Tolland High School, we're using about 1/2 of the school, and the other 1/2 was being set up today by a film crew, who starting Monday will be filming some of Wes Craven's new horror movie 25/8(it will be "Riverton High School" in the Movie - see link below). Most of us setting up today were joking with the film crew asking if they'd want some REAL blood instead of the fake stuff or if they wanted to set up some microphones near our facility to record some dental drill sounds and/or the in all likelyhood occasional scream that will come from a few of the pediatric patients that we'll treat ;)

I've been told not to be suprised when I drive into the school tommorrow AM a little before 5 to literally see HUNDREDS of folks lined up outside the school waiting. This has been the experience at just about everyone one of the 20 odd times this program has happened in Kansas, Nebraska and Virginia over the last decade or so

That may suppress the lines after all.

I was figuring that it might very well temporarily "sedate" few few of the patients who will claim that they're "scared of needles" that I'll be handling tommorrow ;)

The biggest problem/myth with ingaled anesthetics, especially Nitrous Oxide, is that it last a LONG time and works on everyone. In reality, it's only truely effective about 50% of the time and literally withing about 30-45 seconds of the gas being removed from your mouth/nose it's been cleared of your system. SO much of the effect of inhaled sedation drugs that have you still conscious during the duration of their administration is based on your ability to BELIEVE it's working, not the drugs actual affect on you :(

I would be terrified to see the teeth of the people who go to a free dentist....:-o:puke:

I'll glady get some pics if you want ;)

If you actually count the dentists signed up (about 160), the dental students signed up (about 70) and the hygenists signed up (about 80), we've got a little over 300 treatment providers this weekend. And yes, we'll see some reall ugly stuff, but the really sad part is that statistically speaking over 1/2 of the real "bad" mouths will be those of kids under the age of 10

At least they can have those teeth fall out....
Actually for many of those teeth we need to remove them because of infection risk and then what happens all to often is the dietary habits that caused all the problems with their baby teeth AREN'T changed and the same they start having to have some of their permanent teeth extracted before they reach the age of 20
