As long as one finds a way to connect to, respect, and appreciate nature, experience inner joy and peace, and share that with others in a meaningful way, the pursuit doesn't matter. We (the no-skis and do-skis) are not so much unalike.

Right on noski.

I am a reformed winter-hater. As a lacrosse player (age 12 - 28, still playing) every winter/spring revolved around getting rid of the snow and allowing the fields to dry up. Especially one year at Ithaca College when we shoveled our game field...

After starting to practice Yoga, my outlook on life and glorious snow has changed drastically. Yoga has taught me that life is about strength, concentration, determination, acceptance, and balance. Skiing has helped me express this new part of my life. For me skiing allows me to see, feel, experience, and touch more of what is good in this world. My Yoga practice explains my avatar and corny signature. :)

After skiing for nearly 25 years, it now even more fun to share the skiing world with my son:

What are you talking about, I played lacrosse from middle school to my earlyer years at college. Snow was fun man, sliding all over the place man, its fun....you always knew warm weather was coming along with the serious stuff, so we enjoyed playing when we could

I'm not the typical lax player. I hate getting my gear muddy. But I guess the mud is better than practicing in parking lots like we did down in Yorktown, NY when the fields were covered. Experiencing the Ithaca winters and spending time w/my college buddy in Binghampton ruined me in regard to snow until this winter. These days I love the winters because I can slide down a mountain. Not to mention most HS and towns have a turf field for our lax games so mud and snow aren't an issue anymore.

Good to see another lax player on the board!
