Saw a lot of snowmaking today during my flights. Coming from Manchester this morning en-route to Newark I saw the snowmaking on Hunter (couldn't see Belleayre and Windham because of clouds). Then I could see Mt. Peter and Mountain Creek blowing. Mt. Peter was blowing on all trails and Creek was blowing on South and Upper and Lower Horizon. Hidden Valley wasn't blowing yet, their website says they're starting this weekend.

Then later coming into Newark from the west I saw Jack Frost and Big Boulder had blown snow on almost all trails, Blue on some trails and Camelback on many trails. I couldn't see Shawnee because of clouds. Wish I could take pics but I was busy flying the plane.

Yep, looks like good times are about to begin. Looking at some of the forecasts it looks like the cold wants to linger and by the holidays we should have some significant terrain options. Modern snowmaking is a wonderful thing. The eve of the ski season is here.
