Resort or Ski Area: Wildcat

Conditions: Winter Powder which became wicked good snowball snow

Trip Report: The beginning of the day was amazing. About a foot of new snow! :spread:

Until about 10 am there was light, fluffy stuff everywhere and the sun was out.

Rapidly after 10, the snow seemed harder to push around. Soft bumps formed everywhere

My 14 yr old and I hammered everything we could find-the woods, under the lifts, etc.

At about 2 pm we were cooked! It started snowing again and we called it quits.

As we were going toward N Conway the snow turned to rain but I'll bet the mountain
saw mostly snow. It should be nice tomorrow. It is pretty clear that spring is close.

I may post some pix but I'm too tired right now. :p

Now this was a day for tree skiing

Sometime around lunch, they opened a section of the old gondola line. Just when you thought you were good....

Then there was the trail through the woods

Almost time for Tuckermans!

And we perfected the day with a plate of sushi from Delany's in North Conway

Nice post. I was there too. My first trip to Wildcat and I really liked it. I'm only in my second year on skis, so it was challenging for me, but it looked like heaven for all the people I saw in the trees while we were riding the Tomcat triple.

As you pointed out, every place that had any kind of steepness at all was moguls. There was a stretch at the top of Polecat that was really bumped up and difficult. Still a lot of fun. Nice atmosphere with lots of friendly people, no poseurs. Gorgeous sunny warm weather until about 1:30. What the heck is up with the Bobcat lodge? It's like a time machine that takes you back to the 1970s.

Love the picture from Delaney's. I've been wondering if the sushi was any good there. Looks good in your pic.
