What a difference a week makes! This last snowfall has given the boost Wildcat Mountain needed! Last week only trails that had MM were open, and wind kept the summit chair from operating. This time Wildcat’s 2112′ (ahh, that song just started in my head), of vertical greatness was for the taking.
First top to bottom was Upper Polecat to Middle, PP all the way. Continued on Tomcat’s Schuss wich offered natural and soft bumps. Next over to Upper Wildcat, a trail that I have not done in years! Great bumps and fast snow, finished with MIddle Wildcat to Bobcat. Lynx Lair to Upper Lynx started the next run, love that first dip on Lair, great snow to dig your edges in and rip! Midway cut over to Starr Line with fairly soft bumps and natural snow. Cut over to Catwalk and ran it out on Lower Lynx.
As the day went on trails like Panther, Upper Catapult, and Catnap were skied, and coverage was PP. Lynx Connection and Leo’s Leap offered nice MM/natural snow and nice bumps as well.
Not that last week was all that bad at Wildcat, this week at the cat was just that much better. Didn’t hop into any of the trees, but with the impending snow storms coming accross the country the base will be perfect by the end of the week!
