Wildcat: Quick TR... Something was wrong with the quad so it was running slow all day (but hey it beats hiking so I can't complain!). Woods were bottomless. Last run took liftline top to bottom, epic. Liftlines were longest I have ever seen them at Wildcat; but still 10-15 minute wait max. Tomcat triple was broken down, they didn't get it running till around 2 or so? Great skiing. Got a few pictures, let me know what you think:
Small drop early in the AM:
Me getting some fresh powder:
Untracked awaits:
Me getting some fresh turns in:
Where's Waldo?!
Buddy scoring the fresh:
Buddy threading the needle:
I'm sure some of you know where this snowstake is, in recent years the numbers have pretty much disappeared, so that needed to be fixed:
Black Mountain: Sorry no pictures on this one. Black was pretty good today. Lots of untracked to be found. Soft landings to any drops. Losto Glade was run of the day (first time I had skied that) they dropped the ropes at around 930 for the first time this year, got 2nd or third tracks down in, knee to waist deep, absolutely epic... and steep for Black or anywhere for that matter. Under the double up top was good too. Carter Notch glades had some good drop to drops. New trail called Diamond cut, short but good. For $25 for a student all day ticket it can't be beat especially on the day after a powder day. Only say one rope up all day. Super friendly staff; get there if you haven't already.
