I'm heading up for three days at wildcat this tues through thurs. The weather is calling for 20 mph winds tues and wed. Does anyone know if the quad will likely shut down for 20 mph winds. If so what would the next best place be to go around north conway that won't shut down most of their lifts due to wind those days.

if Breeze sees this, hopefuly she will post about this. In my limited knowledge, I would say it depends on which direction the wind is blowing. 20 mph really isn't that much, but if it's blowing across the lift line, maybe it could swing the chairs enough to be dangerous. Wildcat usually has the Tomcat Triple running when the quad is on wind hold, and that serves about 75% of the mountain. If you don't want to deal with wind at all, Bretton Woods claims they hardly ever get shut down because of wind. You could try there.

I've been in the MWV since Friday, I doubt that 20MPH winds in any direction would shut down the quad, But I also have a feeling the winds are going to be stronger than that on Tuesday after the front passes thru Monday night.

There were gusts stronger than 20MPH on Saturday and the quad ran all day, but as kickstand said, they do have Tomcat which would likely run if the quad was on hold.

Bretton, Attitash and Cranmore are much less likely to have wind holds but I'd rather ski Wildcat with just Tomcat running than any of those 3.

If there is a wind hold, I'd say it would be more likely Tuesday than either Wednesday or Thursday, I think things should calm down a bit within 24 hours of the frontal passage.
