Spring conditions with 2 inches of wet freshies in the morning.
We made it out for one last time this year. Wisp has added 10 trails with 2 lifts this year, increasing the vertical to 700 from 600. Most of the new trails are very flat greens, but they added 2 decent blues and a short black run. A fairly good sized expansion that we wanted to check out. Our first couple of runs were in the new area, we found 2 inches of somewhat wet fresh natural on groomed soft icy crust. It wasn't too bad at all. There were 22 trails open, out of about 32 or so. We checked out the whole mountain. The East Ridge trails were a little heavy, being hit by some morning sun in between the clouds. It was sunny, cloudy, and even a few snow showers showed up. In the afternoon the trails out of the sun firmed up a little making for some good cruising. There are a few ways down that can make for a long run, longer than expected for only 600 vert. Wisp has plans for more expansion and we can't wait to check that out! It was a nice day to end a good season.
