Spoiler Alert!

Guys,

I didn't put "Spoiler Alert" in the title, because I didn't know this thread would turn into one. I was just trying to link the live feeds.

The finish positions of the American women today, Anja Paerson's crash, Shaun White tonight - it is NBC's dream night. I really hope they show the entire DH competition and don't reduce it to 5 or six runs to make room for Shaun and freakin' figure skating! ... Nah, they will screw it up for sure.

I know they'll mess it up... but it won't be for figure skating, there isn't any figure skating today. (Though I'm sure they'll talk about it for at least a cumulative hour).

I'll take the under... assuming a crash montage doesn't count as each run.

I hope the Romanian woman is OK.

i know, I know, I got carried away, no time to create a new thread. I didn't think it would be so exciting.. Sorry everyone. Such a big deal for us Yanks!
How's about you go edit your first message and put a lot of white space in and
a huge SPOILER ALERT on that first message.

Just checked the NBC primetime schedule for tonight. Women's DH, Men's 1/2 pipe, Mens speedskating (longtrack) NO LIVE FIGURE SKATING!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking that Lindsey/Julia and Shaun White will grab more airtime than Shawni Davis! Tonight actually has decent viewing potential (okay with a Lindsey/Julia podium shot it has GREAT viewing potential ;) :flag: )

snowboarding, short track , xc, luge, speed skating.
but yeah, they'll talk about figure skating a lot.

problem is they will hold out on the DH till the very end, since there are definitely medals for the US. I'd better take a nap.

Actually, they probably won't hold it too late, as they'll probably show the men's half pipe finals live, and they don't start until 10:15PM Eastern...

On the figure skating front, we're all in the minority here. On Sunday night 32.6 million people were watching it. That's 1/3rd as many viewers as the Superbowl. BIG NUMBER

That's what I'm thinking too. NBC is probably hoping that Shaun White's victory lap down the pipe will be getting underway about 11:20 EST. I'm guessing we'll also get live long track speed skating, so I wouldn't be suprised at all if the women's DH coverage starts right at 8. Then a later segment with the medal ceremonies.

I will say on the figure skating coverage, it is quite entertaining to listen to Scott Hamilton's call, especially when a skater just barely lands a jump.

Other than that, I'm guessing that there's a massive Dick Button fan club effect going on!

I'm definitely going to record what I can tonight, so the NBC lawyers can chase me ;)

Both the DVR's in my house will be set! Gotta save this one, and especially for my 6 year old daughter let her watch it over and over and over as both of those US ladies have what seems to be a great balance of dedication and rationality in their lives, and sure know how to carve a turn! :) :flag:

Some of us who were watching it weren't watching it by choice...

I had it on hoping to catch glimpses of everything else that was going on... (luge, moguls, speed skating)

When it's the only olympic coverage on the TV (and you can't stream it either), you don't exactly have a lot of choices.
