According to alexa.com, a website that shows how much traffic a website receives, we're ranked 318,259th in the world.

There is actually some intersting data there. I was disturbed to see not as many sites link to my work sites as should be....I have more work to do, obviously.

When I had the Alexa Toolbar installed a few years back, we actually ranked in the sub-100K range. If a single user (me) can make that much of an impact, it's not a really accurate measure of traffic, nor site popularity. The technololgy is dependent on users having the Alexa toolbar installed, which most people do not. A better measure of this site's success is its impressive ranking in search engines for various terms:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ski+new+england
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ski+northeast
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ski+new+york

And we've recently made it to page 1 for "ski vermont" which is a widely searched phrase in the winter months:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ski+vermont

Not bad at all. Imagine how many websites there are! Billions! To make the top million is awsome.
1. Yahoo
2. Google
3. MSN
4. MySpace
5. Ebay

Not suprising. All my friends have myspace and I hate it. I buy things on Ebay sometimes.

Greg - Any rankings on forum sites only? I wonder how we rank up to TGR and others...
Well, I guess you could compare post counts which we certainly have less of as compared to TGR and Epic. We are regional site though so it's expected. We have roughly the same number of posts as SnowJournal which is also national, but has a strong East-coast bias due to the NELSAP forum.
