Bode clinched the overall today with Cuche not planning to ski the SL.

The SG was pretty exciting with Cuche blowing a 99 point lead to lose his globe to Hannes Reichelt by 1 point. Cuche skied very tentatively, looked like he was skiing not to lose instead of going all out. Reichelt won the race getting 100 points and Cuche finished 16th, one place ut of the points.

Barring disaster Lindsey Vonn will win the overall on the womens side. After her 2nd in todays SG she has a 197 point lead with 200 points left up for grabs. The only way she can lose it is if she finishes out of the points in both of the last two races and Maria Reisch wins both of them, not going to happen.

Congrats to Bode and Lindsey.

Not since these 2 in 1983 has the US had both the mens and womens overall champs! Note: look how long those skis are compared to today!

Ted Ligety also came from behind in the 2nd run to win both today's GS race at the worldcup finals AND the overall season GS title!

Awesome year for United States Skiing!
