Look...I think what you're suggesting in theory is pretty cool, but in reality at most ski areas there would be about as much demand for it as there is for GSS on Match.com.

Today yes, tomorrow who knows.

I'm of the 'if you build it, they will come theory'. As mentioned earlier, 15 years ago there was no such thing as a terrain park at ski areas. Sundown is one example of an area that is seeing a ROI on focusing on it's mogul product. Granted, they need to focus more on it than others due to being a small southern NE area....but, who knows what this concept might bring eventually.

Agreed. What I see as maybe possible is putting up a competition course, and every 3rd or 4th run or whatever you have to slip it and chop the landings some, or something like that.

For those that like to flame me any time I suggest something that may be critically flawed for some reason or another: it's called brainstorming. There are no bad suggestions. Stream of conciousness, I haven't fully thought it out. Maybe I should put this disclaimer in my signature.

The only hole in this arguement about terrain parks and 15 years ago, is that 15 years ago, snowboarding was really in it's large scale infancy and as it expanded(and brought with it ALOT of new bodies to the slopes), the terrain park kind of started as an outlet for the snowboarder and has evloved into a skier + boarder almost essential feature of a ski area nowadays.

A moguls while growing in popularity are still (and likely for a long time to be) a 2 planker dominated terrain feature(just don't see to many boarders zipperlining a mogul run ;)), and I just really can't fathom today an explosive growth of 2 plankers to rival that of boarders in the last 15 years to feed this market.

Do I think that bumps will continue to grow as a nice niche market for certain ski areas, yup, do I think that realistically it will take off as terrain parks have over the last 15 years, nope.

NOPE---the day that happens i start earning my turns, really.

We already "pay" to ski, wether it's a pass or a ticket we've paid for a service. Bumps form naturally so that's already been paid for. Besides, anyone can ski seeded crap:grin:
