Every week there is a small storm that leaves 2 inches of dry powder throughout the whole season

B:
At the end of each month there is a huge dumping of about 24 inches of fresh, dry as a bone powder.

24 inches for sure..2 inches of fresh everyday gets packed down everyday so you never get any float..

24 inches and it's boner city..and unless you have Mother Natures cell phone number..this question is pretty much as realistic as if monkeys flew out of my butt

Since 4x2 != 24, I would have to go with B.

If, however, you said every week that there was a small storm that dumped 6" (thereby equalling 24" a month), I would probably pick A just because the consistent new snow would be nice.

what she said...there will be deep pockets in the woods and wind loaded spots.

2" is a flurry, not a "small storm"...

I would go with 2 inches a night for the whole season over a 24 inch dump once a month only because I feel like I can go and ski away from the lifts at a handful of areas and have deep snow every time. 4 different spots every week means i would ski 14 inches of pow every day.
Given your choices I would vote for the big dumps as long as temps stayed cold from December thru march.

There are weeks up here we get two inches a day. I goes somewhere but I have not found it yet.
Give me the dumps and the showers. isn't that what winter is supposed to be?

If I had to pick, I'd say B.

In reality though, both situations suck. In a six month / 26 week season, option A means 52 inches of snow and option B. 144 inches. Both are pretty weak sauce if you ask me.
