Current REAL conditions: Snow, 32

What the weather channel's saying for the station 2 miles up the road: Rain, 36

Seriously, I highly doubt that going east and UPHILL 2 miles is gonna change it to rain. I just don't understand how they can mess up something like that. I can see a temp difference, but I just got a call from my dad in Shrewsbury and its snowing there, theres no way its raining at the highest point in between here and there.

EDIT: They changed it to snow finally.

Clearly you will are wrong and your only hope of understanding is by going to a local community college where underqualified professors will spend 4 years teaching you how to guess weather without looking like you are guessing.

I am so fed up with weather people, especially after this week's "big snow storm". Although, in their defense, the conditions where the storm is on the fence between NCP and snow are usually pretty tough to predict. Still, I got screwed by weathermen twice last year in the same situation where predictions of over a foot of powder at Jay turned into rain and freezing rain. Is Roemer going to refund me the 18 hours I spent in the car to ski his so called "big snow storm", I think not. That little optimistic, irresponsible, stupid, lying POS.

It's not that they're wrong. It's the weather we're talking about here, after all. The frustrating thing is that *every* time they've been wrong the last two seasons it's been in the negative direction: big snows that don't come, snow that turns to rain, rain that comes harder than predicted, etc.

Yeah... and most of us in the real world would get fired from our jobs for having a track record of being wrong for 2 years straight. Not so in the weather guessing business.

I would get fired after a week of screwing up temperature related issues. The main part of my job is to control the temperature of my building..all 700,000 sq.ft. of it. I have to track the weather throughout the day and use many sources to do this. Weather reports are the Least accurate. Walking outside with a thermometer seems best.

Havent you people figured it out by now? The only time you can bank on a blizzard is when the meteorologists predict 1"> of snowfall, then you know that we will get 2'+

..Re: Weathermen Can't Even.....

;-),
The same goes for some of the Weather Channel's local forcasts of late..... I'm there @~5am, watching all those clouds with predicted snow...on their broadcast program displays....and I turn my head...to look out the picture window and...Nothing.., as dry as a bone.....but to their credit it was misting for a while within an hour....so...
With the bare land's heat...it has to take some mighty cold air to totally change over to snow.... But here's hoping for next month to bring us some steady snowfall..
At least the temps are not that bad at the mountains....the resorts do a pretty good job with what they're dealt....

Yes, the weather up here has been a lot better the last few days. No major snows on the horizon, but we don't have any big warm ups so far, either. We had an inch overnight into the morning and it's been good snowmaking weather. Sugarbush is finally bringing more terrain online.

So, no great news yet, but it's getting better.
