Late to post but wanted to recap MLK.
Saturday did Gore. It SUCKED. They have major issues this year making snow and it showed with random rocks and grass on main snowmaking trails. Most trails were also WRODs and 25 feet wide. No woods as they have no natural. Not worth the effort to go.
Whiteface however on Sunday and Monday was exquisite. No woods but everything was skiing awesome even with the holiday traffic. Skyward was some of the best I've skiied it even after big storms with how they blew snow on it. Rest of the mountain was a carving paradise as well. Most of the mountain open save the woods and a couple trails. I normally avoid Whiteface until March but it was really great. Going back this weekend since my normal home mountain Gore is a disaster and didn't feel like the longer drive to Sugarbush or Stratton and waiting to use my K days a little later in the season.
