1) Has made my passion for skiing even stronger.

2) Gives me a place to talk about skiing without driving my family nuts.

3) Things I have learned from the members about skiing and skiing in New England is invaluable.

4) Has given me lots of new ski partners.

5) Has hurt my wallet a bit due to all the gear tips and hitting the hill more.

6) Has improved my skiing with all of the threads on technique.

You took all of my answers. Number 6 is still in question for me. I'll get back to you on that one at the end of the season.

If we have an AZ gathering at Hunter I would love to hear your thoughts on my technique. Maybe not this season, but I want to take a run at a 260 ft huck. I'm gunning for that record. My jaw still drops every time I look at the pictures of that lunatic.

JimG. is indeed the man to hook up with this season if you want some tips.

AZ truly has become my passion. It really amazes me to see how this site has grown since its inception in December of 1998! It's taken a lot of time and hard work, but it's all been worth it. It's really great to see folks use this site as a tool; to improve their technique; research gear; even meet and ski with other AZers; or just have a place to discuss Northeast skiing. Even though I started this site, it's all of you that make it a community. It has also inspired me to ski more, and has also made my passion for skiing stronger. Thank you everyone for your support!

It gives me an outlet to discuss skiing. I started looking for somewhere to read and discuss skiing a couple years ago after i realized all my skiing buddies had either quit or moved west. Took me a while but i realized this is the format that best suits me. Having actually met some damn good skiers has been a truly unexpected bonus.

AZ frequently sucks me into a hole in the time-space continuum where I emerge back several hours later with calluses on my finger tips an empty tequila glass and a vague feeling that I need to get on the boards soon.

Because if my anti-social schedule (and nature), I've only had the pleasure of hooking up with Jim G. and NHPH, but it is always great to get to meet and ski with others that are as obsessed with the sport as I am. It's great to get opinions on conditions, areas, equipment, etc., as well as just an theraputic outlet for snowless seasons.

It's really nice that AZ seems to remain free from the knuckleheads that seem to pop up on some other forums. I have to believe it has to do with quality moderation. (Hey, they even put up with my lack of sense of humour...)

It give me something to do in work.

signed, knucklehead.

The vast majority of my posts are done during business hours. Thanks to a dual monitor set-up, I can do work on one screen and post on the other.

It's not NELSAP

The NELSAP forum at Snowjournal is where I earned my username, posting old trail maps and Terraserver links and discussing ski area layouts ad nauseum. Folks over there might wonder whether I actually ski at all. Here I'll try to confine myself to discussing the actual sport.

I've enjoyed some of your threads over there. We can get pretty analytical as well. Please don't feel the need to contain yourself here. ;) Where in CT are you from?

AZ is a popular skiing board that gives me an opportunity to interract with other skiers...specifically regarding New England areas. Having my Snowjournal account deleted left me high and dry in terms of interracting with other NELSAPers so this is the next best thing.

Good to see both of you over here. SJ was, for 5 years or so, my main forum. While there are still some waulity discussions, the character has changed and many of the long stime posters have migrated otherplaces or disapeared.

AZ rocks

No to # 1. You couldn't stoke my passion any more then it burns now, but it certainly keeps the fires burning brightly.

Yes to #2. The kids love to ski too, so they don't mind. The wife simply ignores it.

Yes to #3. You can always learn something from virtually anyone.

Yes to #4. Not a lot, but a couple. Nice folks to get to know. I hope to ski with more of them in the future either here in the east, or out west in the future.

No to #5. My wallet is fine. I do like hearing about new gear, and or "deals."

Yes to #6. As in #4, there is something to learn from anyone else who skis.

Overall, I enjoy being part of AZ and I am glad that so many good people have worked so hard to make it as good as it is. Thank you!
