Memorial day isn't likely but its not impossible, it depends on the weather for the next two months. They've said there going to stay open as long as possible.

The thing that's going to be different this year is the rate of melt on the long sun drenched runout, and that's going to drive the close date.

Yes but the amount of potential walking is going to be in great excess of what it would be on Superstar. They arent out to set any records this year, just provide a temporary acceptable alternative to SS.

There not trying to set records but there not going to close if the trail is skiable. But the runout is still deep I don't think that is the weak point, getting from the triple to nr might be interesting.

If the weather continues as-is, I honestly don't think there will be much if any need for the triple once K1 is done on 5/11.

Mountain was definitely empty today, no lines anywhere.

I usually park at bear or right by the 6. I dunno that I’ve ever parked at supe on a powder day, but did today, so ended up getting true first tracks down superstar. Only 2-3” on top of the groom but oooo boy that was fun.

Lots of stuff skied beautifully especially early. The needles pod skied great.

Devils fiddle was horrible πŸ˜‚

Snowdon woods skied very nice. So did the stash woods.

Pond skim was fun to watch but the snow was too sticky and the pond was too long for the slow snow. Not many made it across.

I did Stash woods and Somewhere/Nowhere and agree they were good. I saw multiple people go into Julio but I feel that was begging for a core shot at the end. How was coverage in the Snowdon woods? I went back over there late in the day and after skiing Northstar I lapped it as the snow was so good vs going in to Patsy's or Lowrider. My legs were starting to get cooked as it was after 3.

Perhaps I'll have to check them out tomorrow...

Thimble, Stitchline, and Dream Maker were also very nice today to add to the list. I still was getting nice soft turns on those even at 2 this afternoon

Low rider skied very well. So nice I did it twice. Patsys wasn’t bad. Also did the woods between ridge run and power line, also very good. Low angle woods good to go with caution. The bottom of Julio etc would def be troublesome

I'll be at Okemo tomorrow but unfortunately they only have the main face open which doesn't have much for nats or glades. Probably won't hurt to rip groomers for a few hours seeing as I haven't skied in 7 weeks. Would be nice if a certain Vail mountain 40 miles to the south had THEIR main face open. Looked at K ticket but $145 is a little steep. Low Rider is always a surprisingly great glade when the snow isn't great in others.
