I have not had issues with mods.

I look at dork as a good guy not a mod. Bubba seems like a good guy as well.

I have had little contact with the others. My point is they have more of a free for all attitude. If it seemed like my post was directed to you before it was not.

More of my feeling that if conversations get off topic it gets uncomfortable for me over there.
. Sometimes the ski discussions are more agressive than I like also. It has limited my post but not stopped them.

Bubba's cool...

Shortski not so much... He's downright mean and hurtful... I refuse to participate as long as he's around "moderating".... It's just that simple...

Hey Andyzee. I just clicked on the link to "Killington Access" that you have on your posting, and immediately got hit by a "Trojan Virus Warning." My McAfee virus scan program intercepted it and cleaned it up, but now I am going to have to do full scan to make sure there wasn't anything else. Just a "heads up."

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I did upgrade my software yesterday in an attempt to get rid of this and thought it cleared this up, guesss it's back to the drawing board.

kzone isnt like tgr, alpinezone, epic or any other board. those guys all know each other. last time i checked tgr was a national board with thousands of active members. epic is national. alpinezone is regional. Kzone is basically 25-35 or so people (plus Xjibber) who know each other and sometimes it shows. whatever, its their board and they run it the way they want. The few people i have met in person from there have been cool. props to the G's. :)

Thanks. Shortski intentionally yanks your chain because you allow it to get yanked. He pushes your buttons on purpose - you just haven't figured that out. And he does it, for the most part, on the political forum which, as you recall, we set up to keep the political arguments (mostly circular and no-win) out of the main forum. So, if you don't respond to him as you always seem to do, the yanking will stop. Oh, calling him a Nazi when you disagree isn't the best way to encourage civil discourse. Oh well....leave it be and come back to discuss skiing once winter starts.

As for the overall vibe on the board, we've tried to keep things as open as possible with as little moderation as possible, yet we try to pull the reins in when things get completely out of hand. We do have a few trolls who contribute little and appear to be there just to stir things up but we're not going to ban them because our philosophy tends toward running things very loosely. We do come in somewhere between TGR (wear your suit of armor) and AZ (mostly a "business casual" dress code) and, once you know the personalities (including the whackos and trolls) you can get along pretty well. I can almost assure you that once the snow starts falling, the nastiness will calm down, there will be lots of good information and daily snow reports, pictures, etc.. Different boards have different personalities - there's enough to go around. :daffy:

Just because I know what he's doing doesn't mean I can't hate the guys guts...

If somebody burned down my house cause he knew it would piss me off - should I now not get pissed off??

He's a non-banable ass...

Disagree on your head count - we have over 750 registered users and, while a significant number are aliases of regulars, I'd venture a guess that of the 750, 550 - 600 are for real. The regulars, however, are far lower than that, probably in the 50 range, like most other boards.

The amazing part is how many lurkers we have who haven't even registered. Last fall, after Wilma went by in October and gave us that epic late October dump, I looked on the admin board and saw IP addresses from around the country and even a couple of Europeans reading the board. We also have lots of people who read regularly but just don't post. Sit down at any bar in Killington and you'll find someone who reads the board - guaranteed!

Stay angry...it's your choice. Hate him...it's your choice. I'm just explaining. What you do with the information is your business.

You really *hate* his guts? Just because of something he posts on the Internet? Sorry, but that's pretty thin-skinned, D. And comparing what somewhat posts on a message board to burning down your house is a bit extreme, no? Everyone has different opinions. The key is to simply respect the right for someone to have opinions that differ from yours. It's not really that hard.

I'm not saying that you only have 35 posters or users. the thread was titled what happened at kzone. I was simply trying to say that you have a core group of posters who basically know each other. No other board that i know of is so integrated. That being said, when you guys start busting each others stones or have an arguement between posters, people who casually read the board may not understand entirely the situation that is present there. whereas boards that dont have the same amount of personal interaction tend not to get so "seemingly" personal in the flaming.

and then you have dis.

As far as who reads the board, i'm sure a ton of people do. It does offer good 411 and i'm sure it will again this winter. Personally, i didnt exhibit enough self control to stay out of the cess pool that a few try to create. and that is my fault and my problem, not kzones.

Understood and, personally, I wish some of the crap (as well as the crappers) would just go away but, unless we want to change the board dramatically, we have to put up with the few bad apples.

As for the recent goings on between two of the regulars, I have no idea how something like that gets started. :argue: I just wish they'd each step off the merry-go-round. Oh well......

You know... I don't expect you to understand - just like once you told me I didn't understnad having kids cause I don't have them...

I have absoluetly NO respect for ShortSki.. If he died tomorrow - I'd piss on his grave..

to me there's no difference between an ass like that saying something to my face or on the net... I asked him to stop something that really bugged me while my brother was seving in Iraq.. He did not and came at me harder.... The only diference is I can't be tempted to kick his ass over the net...

AND - As far as the burning goes... Yes - there is a guy who posts on both boards that hates me and threatened to burn down my house...

I used to go on KZone quite a bit but the threads got to be a bit cumbersome to read, especially since most of the posters are all friends and sometimes appear to do nothing all day except post to every thread on the board. It just got to be too much. Plus, not being a K regular, it made no sense to keep up with it. The only time I do go over is when jr, Doc or Bubba post something about Atomic in the Red Sox thread on the SR chat room. Those are usually good for a chuckle.

You bet your ass I did. Parenting is the hardest thing someone can undertake. It's not something I take lightly so when I get criticised by someone without kids, you will hear it. That being said, I guess I see your point. Something must have really struck a nerve and you're entitled to feel that way. Not that I can fully understand it, but I respect your decision to feel that way nonetheless...

Brutal comments, but again they are yours. I would hate to see what you might say if somebody did/said something really bad...

Frist of all - There's lots of reasons why people don't/can't have kids... Don't assume anything about me and my lack of kids...

I never criticized you about your kids.. I just said that the decisions we make today affect our(your) kids in the future... i meant no harm...

I'm not criticising you for not having kids. There's nothing wrong with that at all. I guess I get defensive when anything remotely resembling being critical of what's best for my kids is brought up. I understand you didn't mean just my kids. No harm, no foul.
