AI and computer assistance in building a Ski mountain? Would it be better then a real person? When and Where will It first be used?

With a AI computer not optimized for Ski mountain construction or ski mountain design it came out with pretty interesting results. Even included a few mountain features not originally inputted as source material. I would like to know if the AI had any free reign internet connection to search for more input material to consider for final mountain outputs.

The last mountain it generated is a funny hybrid traverse/cross country ski mountain from the looks of it. Needs to be run with a little more optimized source code for ski mountains and apply it to a real mountain somewhere that could be a future home see what it comes up with.

I know which I would NOT ski in. Next to the last has multiple ”trails” right next to each other. It may count as distinct trails, but they’ll ski exactly the same. Why bother?

If that’s what the “AI” can do, I’d stay as far away as I possibly can.

Right where I want to be
Some have trails that start in the middle of a slope, no other trails or lifts to get to them. Some start coming out of trees with nothing leading into the trees. So hopefully this is never used!

I’ve actually thought about this a lot, and from my perspective AI wouldn’t replace real people, but it could seriously upgrade the planning process. If I were building a ski mountain, I’d still want experienced engineers and locals making the final calls, but I’d definitely use AI to analyze terrain maps, snowfall history, wind patterns, and skier traffic first. It could save tons of time and help avoid costly mistakes.

For me, AI feels more like a smart assistant than a substitute — great for simulations and data, but not for intuition and creativity. I’d happily use it during the early design phase and then refine everything with human expertise. If you’re curious how this kind of tech is already being applied, you can find out more by looking into current planning tools and case studies.

I'll take a montain design where way more actual input from a real skier/rider is the primary design source, Kind of feel that you need to have the actual experience of what it feels like to ski/ride over various topography and how skiers/riders respond to that, verses just analyze various topographic lines and calculate where to route a trail and move some earth in the process, that sure seems like the recipe for boring, generic, similar skiing/riding terrain to me.

Sure some AI design when it comes to routing of lifts and/or quick calculation of snowmaking needs may be a decent helping tool, but something I feel you just have to have the human, emotional factor to get a "fun" trail vs just getting a trail

i feel like a bit of a luddite, and i am forced to swim against the current at my own job, but i fucking hate AI and i root for its failure, at least in broad public facing applications. if its great at discovering novel drug compounds or helping scientists do real science, great. but no more fucking bad AI copywriting and image generation and fake video. fuck that shit.

Something we agree on.
