Word on the street is Indy just told ski areas they are reducing payouts to mountains significantly on a per visit basis.
Is the percentage of revenue paid to the areas decreasing? I was always under the impression that 85 percent of the Indy revenue went to the ski areas. As visits increase, the per day payments would decrease. Simple math. Now if the percentage paid out is going down that could piss off some of the areas and force a decision stay or go. Anyway, I re-upped for next year.

I've noticed something wonky with the magic thread as well. It shows up under new posted, but the default forum page it disappears.

In other news, in the four days since I unsubscribed from Indy, they have hit me with something like 8-10 emails and at least 6 texts. No one likes a breakup but lay off me.

In regards to the overall payout, they claim 85 percent but no one can prove its true from the ski area side.

Seems four major mountains are leaving Indy for Ikon:
Snowriver, MI
Lutsen, MN
Granite Peak, WI
Tamarack, ID

I’d put those right up there with the loss of PowMow. Hopefully Indy has some more significant additions to replace them.

For Tamarack, if it's only two days for a full Ikon, I wonder if they'll remain on the Indy still. I've skied 4 days there in the last two seasons, none were busy at all.

From what I've heard from Buck Hill and Midwest Family Ski Resorts, once you make a deal with Ikon, you are out with Indy. It's an either or situation, not both.

Anyone have (quick) recommendations for Dartmouth? Gonna stop there for a few hours this afternoon on the way to Stowe. I figure 3-4 hours is enough to check out everything but anything that I should consider "can't miss?"

Make sure to go upstairs in the lodge to check out the beautiful white pine timber frame bar. Holts Lift Line was the only trail I found challenging, but hard to miss it :)

Dartmouth was cool! Ungroomed had a lot of deep deep mank so kind of stuck to the groomed stuff (the bottom of Keltons was the sole exception) but the cruisers are a lot of fun here! Don Warden Schuss really reminded me of a shorter version Burke's Dipper (which is my favorite cruiser in New England) with the big wide rolling pitches. Thomas also a lot of fun (although I got a little too far left and caught the mank at high speed and went for a nice tumble).

Bottom of Liftline was pretty blown out. I still would've skied it but the snow looked like very deep mank so that kept me away. There was an insane looking tree shot dropping off to the right just above that last Liftline pitch.

Seemed like the perfect place to bring a kid or a low intermediate. Really chill, low key vibes with reasonably mellow terrain for the most part.
