Anyone else into the show on Discovery about Alaskan crab fishing? Sounds lame, but it's actually a pretty interesting show.

Haven't seen it yet, although I'm interested.

I had some friends from HS that went up to do that. They didn't last to long, one came home early with a bad case of Pnumonia (sp?)

Crabs so big, ya put ya leash on 'em!

It is a pretty cool show, though I liked the original, non-series show better. Kind of tough to see it as a game show.

...

I enjoy it. I once bartended with a fellow who did it for several seasons. Listening to his night shift stories of heavy surf kind of made...what I, at the time, considered personal rough WW canoeing treks in interior Canada...pretty lame

We just got back into watching this show. Still entertaining, as is "After the Catch" where the host interviews the crab boat captains in a bar in Seattle...

Yep...I've really gotten into this show now. Check it out on the Discovery HD channel, if you can.

I used to really like the show and never miss it. While it is a rough way to make your money I am sure alot of that is staged.

Like when the Time Bandit(I think it was that boat) Watched the guy fall over board, then saved him. You never actully saw that guy in the water. He was on the stack one second, the gone the next, couldnt see him in the water either. Never saw him in the water when he was pulled up. PLus what are the chances taht they would be there to watch?

I am not saying the show is entirly staged, but some things are, and with the help of choise editing......

I don't think that was staged or didn't happen, but the reaction of the crew, the captain especially, seemed a bit forced. Hard to say really cuz that was probably a nerve racking situation.

Don't forget that a few years earlier Jonathan pulled a guy out of the water, but it was too late. I don't think it was staged or forced at all. It appeared to be an honest reaction to a completely nerve-racking experience.
