I've been thinking about setting one up, mostly related to AlpineZone and/or Northeast skiing. Who else has one? Post a link here if you want...

I have maintained a LiveJounal for what must be about six years now (long before the recent weblog boom of MySpace and FaceBook, I am old school like that ;) ). It is mostly useful as a social tool to keep my friends up to date on whats up. It was also helpful in the club scene keeping tracking of events and for promotions. Seeing what my "friends" are up to and being able to read interesting or weird things is dope as well. Pretty much becomes just another forum just built specifically around friends and common interests. The ability to track certain RSS feeds such as comics is helpful as well.

I recently setup a WordPress weblog on my web space but rarely utilize it. It worked well enough for testing the software. As a preview of things to come, I am moving thesnowway.com to WordPress which should go live in about three weeks time. It has been one long Summer of converting documents and integrating gallery, checking links, fixing spelling/grammar mistakes, etc. But in addition to Trip Reports, the Blog feature will be helpful for finely tuned and researched commentary. It should be a fun and interesting development for my site.

I have a great interview posted right now with Didi Lawrence, who skied Annapurna (Nepal) in March. She's the daughter of Andrea Mead Lawrence, the only American to ever win two gold medals in a single winter Olympics. Her grandparents also founded Pico Mountain.

And a couple posts back, there's an interview with Deb Armstrong, winner of the Gold Medal in the Women’s Giant Slalom at the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo. She's also been inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame and is on the PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) National Alpine Demo team.

Take a look!
