I was looking at pictures this morning. I have pictures of Sunday River from last year on dec 22nd. I took 1 from the top of American express looking west towards Jordan bowl and all you could see was brown! On sat the 22nd this year we were skiing everything! What a difference from last year. I didn't remember it being quite that bad till I looked at the pictures. Sorry no pictures from this year. Was to busy skiing to stop and take any.

I had about 10 days or so in by now last year....

5 runs so far in about 1.5 hrs at wa wa.....

New job is very demanding, very little time off at the moment.
H had a day off today was going to head to wa for the day...but I figured I missed the epic conditions earlier....have 2 weeks in Febr...saving the $$$ for Little cottonwood canyon....

26 days by new years eve this season

last season was

25 days by new years eve...

But last year Blue mountain was closed for 5 days in early to mid January..and this year I'll at least ski 3-4 out of those five days..in some Pocono Poe. My vert is slacking so far..about 350K through 23 days..averaging about 15k per day..By the end of January my average should be at or near 20k per day and I'm hoping to crack a million vert by then.

Peace

With that kind of vert do you actually turn while skiing? ;-)

In all honesty, I'm quite envious...I'm happy with 5 days out before the New Year. Much better than the one night session I got in last year before January. :-x

I've been making alot more turns this season..especially after my ski buddy broke his Femur last week at Blue...Last season I skied a 61,000+ vert day at Jackson Hole in 7 hours with a lunch break. I'm going back in 3 weeks and if there's a hardpack day, I want to possibily beat that or just slack and ski 50k of vert...lol

BTW last year at this time I was at 24 days and this year I'm at 25 days but last year Blue mountain was closed from January 6th-10th so I'll build a little buffer..but I did ski 61 days in a row from the end of January to April 1st so that will be tough to beat..lol..oh well..anything over 100 days this season is gravy for me after 110 days in 05-06 and 119 days in 06-07..I do want to beat last years vert of 2.4 million.
