Doesn't scratch your lens? I've found just laying a bare hand on the lens for 10 seconds or so to melt the ice and then wiping it away with a finger works fine.

It's a miniature rubber wiper blade about an inch long. A friend of mine had one last season during a snowfall at SR. Works well.

I have one of those types of things on one of my pairs of gloves. Definitely useful when night skiing and they're blowing snow.

nope...they're rubber and are softer than the lens material. I'm a freak about my goggles...a single scratch in the lens drives me nuts so if they scratched my lenses I would have tossed the skigee in the trash years ago. I use a number of different lenses from Smith and Oakley and they haven't scratched them. They're much more convenient than the warm hand method...I can ski under a gun, get blasted and scrape it off while still moving and barely miss a turn.

My transpack. Love that thing! Makes getting to/from the lodge with gear and kids about 1000 times easier! +10

Good call! My transpack was definately a pleasant surprise. Hands free to carry skis and poles, open doors, etc. is the best. I will never to back to a traditional boot bag.

my wife and mother love their transpacks but they're too small for me...I've got a cargo bag but I put it across my chest instead of just hanging it off one shoulder...both hands free to carry skis, poles, etc

Transpack again. Fantastic.

Thermo/ID liners. The warmest, lightest and most comfortable liner I have ever worn, going on 13 years in them, will never go back to a traditional liner.

I agree with the good Doctor. We picked one of these up with the new gear we bought my wife last year. We'd been out of the sport for awhile. I was amazed at how easy it was to carry it around. As I've mentioned in the other thread, I had a traditional over the shoulder bag. She ended up buying me one later in the season.

My new Swix iron. I had used an old clothes iron for years. It worked fine, but I always smoked out whatever area I was waxing in. The one drips the wax easier and the temp setting dial is perfect. I never knew what I was missing; worth every penny.

+1. Got my Kryptons because they're Kryptons, the ID liners for the molding, but the warmth is awesome. Feet were nice and toasty last Saturday at 10 degrees at Killington. That particular part of the awesomeness was unexpected.

You'd never think something like a ski specific wax iron could be an impressive item until you've actually used one! That thick heating plate and precise thermostat make a HUGE difference and really speed up the whole waxing process. Almoost makes it tough to finish the obligatory tuning beer without having to chug 2/3rds of it :)

Luckily, I have three pairs of skis to tend to. So it keeps the process rolling for drinking beer!
