Got any ideas where i can get a pr of reasonably priced OTG clear lens goggles for Nite skiing , I ski mostly days

My regular Carreras ( Gold and Rose lens) are GREAT for daytime but a bit dark during that time at dusk before the lights really take hold . I usually only ski a couple of times AT NIGHT so don't feel like spending $100

Ideas??

You can prob just get clear lenses for your current goggles. Check with the manufacturer.

Thanx B !! maybe a good alternative

Swapping the lenses can be a minor hassle. One which I avoid, but I night ski as much (or more) as I ski during the day, so I'd be swapping lenses almost every time I went out. If you're only going a few times a season it will probably be worth it to just swap the lenses, if you can find them.

I hear ya about goggle color... I have only dark lenses and if its anything but a bluebird day I find myself floundering for visibility.. Wish I at least had some yellow sharpshooter gogs to use on an overcast day...

Check out motorcycle stores for clear lens goggles and lighter tints, like blue and yellow.
Lots of online stores too, like Dennis Kirk.
Also they are alot cheaper even though they are the same brands.

One caveat, many are single lens only.

I would recommend yellow or rose instead of clear lenses. They are good at night and low light conditions.

The Smith Monoshee OTG retails for about $50 and you can get a clear lens thru prolens, about $16.

We sell Smith and Oakley MTB/dirt bike googles in the summer and to be honest they do not work very well in the winter tho a few people do use them. For one thing they are very flexible, you can practically twist them like a preztal. Totally diferent plastic construction than a stiff ski goggle. A few people have come in with them in the ski season as the cold stiffens them up and they don't seal very well to the face which makes them fog up easily.

You can buy lenses directly on the Smith Optics web site.

http://www.smithoptics.com/

I usually have my local ski shop order them since they give me a 20% discount and don't charge me for shipping.

I have yellow, 'Sensor Mirror' (rose), and RC36. I use yellow when it's socked in, the sensor mirror most New England days, and the RC36 on cold bluebird days at high altitude when I'm not wearing sunglasses.

If I did night skiing, I'd probably pick up some clear lenses.
