That pic of Icelantic is pretty sick. But the flak for editing the rotation is well deserved. GoS may be the lowest angle gully skiing on Mount Washington, but it is still an honest 35 degrees at the top of the gullies, LOL. That shot of Ice booting it by the tips of his boots gives me the willies. I hate booting up in that type of snow pack where I can't get my foot flat into the snow.

Well done, sir! Looks like you guys got off the well traveled path. Been meaning to get over there.

Hey man, I'm just busting balls. I'm sure most anything on Washington would make me piss my pants, but when all the trees are leaning over at 20+ degrees I gotta throw down a call out. I understand pitch is hard to capture in a 2D image, but still...

I keep looking at those pictures over and over again, and I just don't see how they are rotated that much. Maybe an extra 5 degrees, but definitely no more than that. It was probably around 30 degrees where all those pictures were taken. The trees aren't vertical next to those gullies.

It's called Gulf of slides for a reason...

Conditions look great. I'll get up there soon for the goods on the other side. All those trees are leaning down hill because they have been avalanched on for years. Look at the ones in the slide paths vs. the ones on the high points. Theres a several degree difference. Anyway, sweet pictures!

Props to you for the trip, thanks for sharing. The weather looked nasty on the upper part. I too took a double take with the tree in the foreground but in looking at the trees in the background they look to be pretty vertical so my take it the foreground tree is bent over. I doubt it would be even noticible to you at the time of the hike up or the ski down as you probably have other things on your mind and rightly so. Is that first pic pretty straight forward? It's a keeper for sure. Well done.

Balls. I wish I could have gone. By this weekend the avi danger is going to be extreme... or... certain death, probably after this storm blows through.

We should be able to find some stuff relatively out of harms way. Unless it snows Sunday too then we'll be stuck skiing powder somewhere. Darn.
