Done for the year. Was planning a trip to Sugarloaf this weekend, but a dislocated shoulder at Sunday River last Sunday killed that possibility. Halloween to April 26th though, not a bad season.

I made opening and closing day. We had a buddy mess up his shoulder a week ago. Is that you?

He is a boarder.

99.9% sure I'm done.

I'd go this weekend to the loaf if I could get one of my friends to go, but they're planning a foxwoods trip... so I'm probably done...

No. I have been skiing the River religiously for over 20 years, but don't really know any of the regulars. They brought me down in a sled to right below the Barker deck on Sunday around 1:30, so if you were outside you probably saw me. Sucks to miss the last weekend, but better to have it happen now than the middle of the season.

Sorry to hear that. i did not see you come down in the sled. Heal well. Try and join us next year. We have a pretty good crew.

Thank you. I have seen the bbq's in the lot, and have heard about the Meet and Greets, but have yet to join in. There is always next year!

Ha, thanks. I'll be sure NOT to send him a link to this thread :) Even with the Sherbie he didn't seem too keen on it. For someone who is, say, not in terribly great hiking shape and might take a few short breaks, how long would you estimate the hike to the base of the bowl would be? 2.5-3 hours? How long up a run in the bowl, say Left Gully?
Lame. Tuckerman Ravine is a definite rite of passage for the New England skier. You just can't let excuses get in the way of doing it at least once in your life time. Even just hiking up to the bowl and skiing out the Sherburne is a classic experience without actually skiing the bowl. 3 hours for base to topping out of something like right gully (easiest run/climb in the bowl) sounds reasonable for most people. Four hours tops for the truly out of shape and slow. Sell him on it next season when you can ski out. The hike out suffer fest does not endear people to the experience on a first time occasion!

My take exactly. I'll admit that I'm not really into hiking, but whatever. I'd at least do the 3 hour hike for a few minutes of skiing once before deciding its not worth it, and given how much I want to ski, wouldn't be surprised if I consider it worth it. I'll work on him. I did originally suggest it when the Sherbie was fully there, but no weekend worked for both of us in any case.
