1.5 hrs Whitetail

5 min Suicide Six

There's a suicide six in the Mid-Atlantic or do you have a place near Suicide Six in VT?

Also, did you ever hit up that glacier out west you were talking about hitting while on business a month or so ago?

Suicide Six in Pomfret, VT! :)

Ya, I had a nice time out in Montana. Working on a TR, will post shortly. The ravine is about the same width as Tux but only half as high. And it's at 11,000 feet instead of 5,500. Really feel the thin air!

Cheers bro

45 - 50 minutes Camelback Pa. All Interstate 80, plus a toll over the Delaware River.

Where I live close to I-80 and I-287, I can hit most everything up to Northern NH in 6 or less hours 99.9% of it on interstate highway. Newark Airport is 30 minutes away too.

You would think that having lived in VT for 15 out of my 33 years that I would associate Suicide Six and Pomfret, but apparently not.

look forward to the Montana report

Grandparents started skiing in Pomfret in 1934 and have been there full time since the 1950s.

I learned to ski at Mt. Tom in 1976. Lived nearby full time a couple of years in the 80s & went to Woodstock High School. Back every year for as much time as possible. Relatives in Montpelier & Norwich.

Suicide is a great little ski area -- but hardly any moguls! So I'm just learning 'em now, 20 years late LOL at self ;)

For Skidork and myself, it can be anywhere from 5-1/2+ hours to Killington depending on the weather conditions. Dork will tell you that sometimes we make Rutland in 5 hours but then I spend almost an hour in Price Chopper getting provisions for the weekend thus making our trip a lot longer. What he won't tell you is that he usually naps while I am shopping.

15 minutes to Hidden Valley - my home mountain and 10 minutes to Mountain Creek if I feel like something a little bigger.

4 hours from work to Killington, provided I beat rush hour traffic on the Taconic State Parkway.

That's ambitious. I don't think I'd have an interest in driving over 3 1/2 on a regular basis. If I lived on Long Island I'd probably be a Hunter skier as my regular mountain or maybe Mt. Snow if I 'had' to ski in VT.

And I don't mind driving. I spend 6 hours a day on average in a car.

To the average person it sounds pretty insane, but if you live it every weekend its not so bad. We split up the driving and whoever isn't driving is in the 3rd seat (back seat) sleeping. It becomes pretty routine after a while and doesn't seem so long. I guess its because we do it so often

I would never do it that much if I was the only driver

I'm homeless but it's 2 hours to the BEast. I can get to Sundown in about 50 min but would rather take the extra hour unless I'm planning on meeting-up with the peeps.
