And be prepared for delays due to buses!
.
YEA!! School started today for my 6 yo. Sorry for my obvious enthusiasm, but he's been driving my wife carzy this summer. I'm happy for her piece of mind. Which is indirectly related to my piece of mind!
What I hate more are the soccer moms who "need" to have a conversation with the bus driver at every stop...:angry:Crap, I hate dealing with the buses...

I hate that the bus has to stop at every kid's house to begin with. Before you know it the bus driver will be going into each kid's house to help get them ready. What ever happened to neighborhood bus stops??? When I was a kid the bus made 1 stop on our street to pick up as many as 10+ kids.
Damn, I'm starting to sound old....

When I was a kid we had a bus stop with 50 kids at it...the bus made one stop at the field...all kids from all streets in the village convened there. It was a blast too! We played all sorts of great games in the field with all those kids while we waited for the bus. I think most of us went to school with grass stains and torn clothes! Oh yeah, and there were no parents watching to be sure we were safe...but we were.
Crap, I hate dealing with the buses...
It's not a dislike. It's the fact that 24 hours a day, every day, it's all I do right now. And after a while, the normal sibling fighting, "exploration" of the house which results in large messes, getting into things they shouldn't, etc, is tiring. Very tiring. You go to work and get a break from your kids, right? I don't. I love them very much--but everybody needs a break. And sleep at night doesn't count because mine *still* wake up 1-4+ times a night on a regular basis. It amazes me, and this amazement is substantiated by some comments in this thread, that some people dislike their kids so much. I've always felt that the way my kids behave is by far a reflection on how I behave towards them and how I interact with them. I just don't get the concept of wishing away the time in a way that sounds like, "can't wait to get rid of them".
Especially the ones that drop a kid off...then drive 75 feet, stop, drop another kid off. Fawking kids have it so easy these damn days.
On my street, there's a woman who drives her two kids to the end of the block to catch the bus.
Yes, in an SUV.
Yes, they're all three overweight.
