I was there on October 2nd, 1992 and that was my earliest skiing day at Killington before I skied on October 1st in 1993. Pictures from October 2nd, 1992:

Cool pics! That would make for a nice season...early October to early June.

Early season skiing is great, and fun to get the stoke up, but that 3rd picture down from Oct 31, 1993 looks like a huge clusterfuck. I'd rather stay at home and eat Halloween candy.

Uh,ok,uh,excuse me..uh coming through! What the hell is that cluster all about?

don't ever remember it quite like that, but actually could be the liftline winding it's way back up the hill.

have fond memories of october skiing at k. really shortened the off-season since you were essentially in standby mode from oct 1 on. they could blow that section of cascade in about 16 hrs. those were definitely the glory years. and then you could ski 'til june 1. seems crazy now in the current climate but it obviously worked for them back then or else they wouldn't have done for over 20 yrs.

Some people were so busy talking, they forgot to get off the lift at the top....

I love that photo with the mountain bike on the lift with skier!! Nice!! I don't think any place east has overlapping mountain biking and skiing, although a couple buddies mountain biked on Saturday (locally in western MA) last year and then skied opening day at K on Sunday.

I can remember one Columbus Day weekend in the 90s when we camped at Gifford Woods, skied in the morning, and mountain biked in the afternoon. Those were the days.
