I wasn't there myself but did see this video shot at Magic on New Years Day 2010 that's a trip report in itself. Anyway Magic looks to be in great shape and I might have to take a Monday or Friday off from work if they get another dumping of snow any time soon!!! Anyway here's the video.......

What a great video of the run down Redline. Wish they kept it going for the really steep part. I prefer to just ski down that steep face before the little drop to flat. I think that's easier than trying to navigate around to the left through those trees.

Looks like they skied Magician, which appeared to have really good coverage and/or it got trimmed this summer...

I just thought of a negative of them only being open Friday through Monday - there will be no trip reports for me to use to guage the conditions there on Friday before I go. I guess I can call them on the way up and just drive by to Bromley...

i want to go there. when i got new skis last spring i went wider and kept thinking that Magic was the place i wanted to see how they compared to my old ones. Not that i can ski trees or powder (i am not worthy) but i have fun trying.

Magic isn't just gnarly stuff... the east side has plenty of great cruising terrain... more twisty and generally narrower than the McMountain trails but certainly not difficult and much more interesting and fun to ski than a superhighway cut straight down the falline.

lets plan a trip g. its a blast. and as far as trees, the hallows which is on the map, is really mellow and fun. i know there's alot more but you need roark to give it up. not online of course.

I'd be happy to ski with y'all. I know only a tiny fraction of what is there. Rusty Groomer and Orange Gondola know A LOT more than me.

Gary's been. I know that it didn't seem like it based on his post, but I think he was one of the dudes I skied there with.... ;)

Maybe he just forgot about that day...

umm, my wife is working thursday night. who's gonna stay with my kids in the morning until she gets home or should i leave for mrg at 8:30 am when she gets home and still have to be back by 6:00 pm for her to go back to work.

what would that leave me for ski time, about 23 minutes?

sorry if i sound bitter but i am. and i'll be even more bitter when i see your pics and or vid.

Didn't mean to rub salt in the wound. Just thought there might have been an option for you on one end of the day. 4 hours at MRG is still a lot of skiing.

But if Magic's the only option, "settle" for that!
