I have some Stowe tickets and some 2 for 1 coupons for Smuggs. I'd like to stay in Stowe but ski Smuggs for a day without taking the long drive. Can you still go over the top of Spruce and get to and from Smuggs like you used to? Last time I was at Stowe they had it roped off, but there were a lot of tracks heading out toward Smuggs.

I'm probably the wrong person to answer since I haven't done it and I've actually never skied Spruce or Smuggs... But, when Stowe put in the new quad on Spruce a few years ago, they shortened it. So you'd probably have to hike up a bit to get to the top of Spruce where the connection is. Beyond that, you'd need to use a Stowe ticket in order to get up Spruce, unless you planned to hike up the whole way. You'd end up needing to use 2 tickets that day.

Haven't been up in a few years (5) but last time I was yes, we just ducked the rope and away we go. Have fun!!!

That's right. You can no longer buy a one-ride ticket at either resort any more. Classic case study of two resorts that can't get along. About the only people it financially works out for are those skinnin' or pass holders. When we stay in Stowe and ski at Smugg, we drive all the way around :(

Got some free Stowe tickets (don't ask). That's the only reason I'd consider it.
