Just to make you all feel really jealous

Was reading about how NE has been getting shafted on the snow front this year.

A few of you helped me with advice on places to go in NE last year so I keep an eye on this forum.

Last year Scotland (where I'm from) really struggled with a few good days here and there for the 5 resorts.

This year so far, there have been numerous "day of the season" or "day of the century" so far at all the resorts. I personally had the best day I've ever had at Glencoe a couple weeks ago. Foot of powder, no crowds, no wind, bluebird. Was up again today, another foot of powder, but couldn't see much. Still, I only had to drive 2 hours from Edinburgh.

Glenshee has already surpassed last season's numbers by a long way only half way through the season. Cairngorm was closed due to the access road being under 15 feet plus of snow for a week or so but apart from that has had the best conditions for 30 years, probably ever Nevis Range got 1-2 FEET of snow today and The Lecht was closed due to the roa being closed from both sides so I'm guessing tomorrow will be scary good riding up there.

So, whatever NE is doing to send all the snow this way, keep it up! Maybe the American's can start crossing the ocean to ski in Scotland??

Glad we could help! Regardless I'm always intrigued by lesser know places to ski so if you able post up some recent pictures that would do wonders to satisfy my curiosity.

Bearing in mind we rely entirely on natural snow, I reckon the cover on the hills is insane bt apparently because of global warming it is no longer possible to ski/ride in Scotland. Oh aye?

So what's up at Glencoe? I know they were seeking investors or potential buyers as of last year. Did anything transpire, or are they still in flux?

so I know that you're all getting hammered over there but the Highlands are cut off completely from the rest of Scotland today. Mental storm hitting us with Glencoe having 2 feet in the car park this morning and waist deep powder at the top of the access chair. And the snow is to keep on coming until tomorrow night!

Nowhere's gonna be open today or tomorrow, might get 1 or 2 centres open by Saturday. Sunday is going to be monstrous, which is nice as it's the frst day I can get up there.

I'll update some pictures when I calm down.........

I know this probably isn't right but must be the first time it's been in the same league as the States or the Alps for decades. Definitely the snowiest winter I can remember.

As for Glencoe, they got new owner/operators in the Fall and are doing a great job running the place. As for tree skiing, there's none but some of the dropoffs and steeps are amazing as well as the infamous Haggis Trap at the bottom of a nice easy Blue run.

This season somehow just got even better!
