Was today a typical crowd for Magic? I tried to find out and I asked a few people if they were regulars, but noone I asked was a regular. Everyone said it was their first time to Magic.

Was there a line? If so, that's unusual.

Was the line more than 5 minutes? That would be unknown!

What did you think of Magic?
I want to see TRs from all the first-timers!!!!

I really thought it would have been more crowded there today, I'm considering getting season passes there for the family for next year and I just couldn't believe that it wasn't that busy, especially for a Sunday. I'd have to be an idiot not to buy a pass for next year if those are the regular crowds.
We showed up at 1pm and we got 4 green runs in on the Magic Carpet and Wand, etc with my 6yr old and my nephew and then I got a run in on Witch and Goniff. It wasn't a productive ski day for the group. I just didn't get around enough today and hopefully I may be able to get the whole family there next Sunday.

Mr Magic - I was really surprised that this user name wan't already taken, I thought it fitting. And no you can't ask Beth out!!!

Magic is one of those places to flee to when the bigger resorts get too crowded, esp. during holiday periods.

Wasn't my first time there, but it was my first time this year. Saturday's lines were longer than we've ever seen. Round trip, a run took 35 minutes. Left one of my kids in the lodge and had a text message from him just as I hit the top of the mountain asking when I was coming back in! (twenty minutes had passed).

It was my 17 year olds first time there. He was a little put off - at first - by the slow lift and lack of terrain park. But once we showed him a few runs, he lightened up and had fun. He enjoyed Twilight Zone - lauching off pretty much anything he could find in there. And I hear they had a "really fun run" down the Redline...didn't get many details but my husband said he never laughed so hard and I guess there were some comments from the gallery above on the lift.

Heard the name "Rusty Groomer" being kicked around the cafeteria area mid morning but I couldn't tell which one he was, or if people were just talking about him. Was hoping to see some of the more private gems of the mountain. And I think I spotted ta & Idaho in the lift line - but there were kids also, and I didn't see where he mentioned having any. So, I didn't say hello.

What few runs I got in, were fun. 9 year old just wasn't into it so I had to bag it early.

Not a week ago Saturday it wasn't. No complaints though - as I said in ta&idaho's TR, lots of skier visits are a real good thing. Now if some capital can get plowed into getting the Black Chair back into action next season, that'd be good too. (I believe Matt said here or elsewhere that it would have happened this season if not for that January washout.) Getting the mountain open again at all is obviously the first step though.

or if they were talking about the actual old rusty groomer . My first visit there this year I heard a conversation about that while waiting for first chair. Apparently it was the focal point of some big party during the summer ...

Yeah, the doubles line was probably 8-10 minutes most of the day, and the singles line was usually about 5. They stayed open until 4:30, though, so you could recoup most of your extra line time. :-D

Lane Meyer - The lines you saw on Sunday were longer than they have been on Saturdays other than the last 2 weeks. The crowd yesterday and last Sunday are the most people I have sen on the mountian for a Sunday in sevreal years. You will thank yourself many times voer if you pull the trigger on passes next year. Welcome:beer:

As for the Saturday lines.... they were longer than usual but I ahve seen much worse at other mountian. I guess what puts people off is waiting on line while seeing another lift closed. If the black chair had been running as well, the lines would ahve been non existant except maybe around 1:30 to 2:00 when everyone is done with lunch. getting that chair up is fairly high on the priority lsit so I woudl expect to see it running next year.

I didn't find the lines too bad. We got there for opening so the first 4 runs were ski on but even mid day they weren't awful.(certainly by Camelback standards) Would definately like to see the black chair reopen. There would have been no lines if it was. I told Matt that the last time I had been at Magic was when they had the center pole double where the Black chair is now and he lamented that it wasn't still there. My understanding is that the problem is electrical in nature.

Looked for you today but couldn't pick you out and only got your PM this morning or I would have called you last night. Great day at Magic. What a gem. Saw Ta&Idaho and his lovely wife, Rusty Groomer and Matt and scored a Save Magic T-shirt. Talisman was my favorite run of the day. Magic again or Stratton tomorrow will decide at dinner tonight.
