It's June. Some lift installs don't even start until late summer.

They're going to reuse the bases and most towers..

I think lot's of employees are on vacation now.. I expect things to ramp up after the 4th holiday.

DMC,

I can see the bases if they pass the strength tests, but towers on a 6-pack are much larger than a quad! Thats all we need is a tower buckling!

I report what I hear and see. I was told that some towers will remain and they will replace the top portions on those.

I don't see any problem using the old towers/bases, it's not like the people installing the lift haven't done this before. Besides, i'm sure that some of the bridges you use to get to Hunter are way older then the bases/towers. I've walked around there some, and are amazed at the way some of those bases seem to be at as much as a 20/30 degree angle from the perpendicular!

dmc, next time you're walking take a look at the triple right there by the belt, man that ones got to be almost 45 degrees:-o

The pad(tower is gone) by where the dude takes PIX is pretty crazy.. Next time we drive... I mean hike :) up there I'll measure the angle with my IPhone...

Like Orville and Izzy used to drive their Lincolns up and down the belt! I bet those cars got trashed!

Old Lincolns...were a bit tougher than the ones of today. A friend of mine has an old Lincoln Continental, the thing has a front bumper that's about 6 inches thick of solid metal. :-o

2 years ago during one of the festivals, we took the skyride. I decided to walk down and so did a work associate of my wife. Only when we rounded the bend on Hellgate did I realize he was wearing penny loafers. He was about 60 years old and not in shape. I gave him my sneakers and we crawled down Hellgate.

The sun was beginng to set and I was getting worried. After 45 minutes we got to midstation. It was getting really dark and he could barely walk. I was blistered as well. I called my wife who drove the minivan behind the hotel across to Mossy. She went up Mossy and waited at the bottom of F. We were still struggling, when out of blue 6 ATV's come along and saved us. We jumped on and they give us ride down to my wife.

We drove down Mossy and through the festival. No one said a word.
