93 North does have white signs every few miles that say something like 'authorized vehicles only', where cops tend to hide out. Good that they give you advance notice before those turn-arounds... I only speed between the signs.

Around hooksett, there is a downhill that tends to have patrols -- Around Plymouth, NH I've been pulled over too...

i pretty much follow this rule for all driving, with the exception of "going with the flow", if everyone is doing more i'll stay with the pack.

the "pack" I was in all got pulled over once on 87 - all 5 of us... They used to cars to heard us in.. i told the trooper I was going with the flow of traffic... he didn't really care.

I got off with a no seatbelt cause i had an NYPD card.. Cost a ton of $ but no points...

i've heard/seen this too, i know it happens but i've been lucky so far. as i explain to my 16 YO son who now drives and likes to point out when my wife and i don't follow all the laws, i know the risk, i accept the risk and it's my money that pays the ticket.

South of Crotched Mountain on Francestown Turnpike. Between the cemetery where the speed limit changes to 30MPH and Francestown. I see him at the fire house.

Which brings me to Plymouth, on 100 just a few miles before 4. Probably 60% of the time, there's a cop there. Think they just act as a "please slow down" cop, I've gone through there at 7 over before I learned he was always there and nothing, and there doesn't seem to be people pulled over there all that often.

I live near there. Trust me, he pulls a LOT of people over. Consider yourself lucky.

Skied at Killington for 4 years, only 5 times the first year. I've been driving 2 over through there for the last two and a half; best not to poke the bear.

I know he pulls a lot of people over, just that, at the times I'm travelling through he'd constantly have someone on the side of the road if it was Woodstock-like enforcement. Guessing more the people that don't fully slow down from 60 to 45.

Farmington, ME: Driving south on Route 27/4 (going home from either Sugarloaf or Saddleback), there's a big left bend on the road as you enter Farmington. The speed limit goes down to 25 and there's a cop sitting in a driveway right behind the bend with a radar.

Let me add any sucker in a MA plate on 95 going around Portland. If all the Mainers pull into the center lane - don't pull a M*sshole 128/93 commuter move and jam it up the left lane. Maine's finest will stick it to you.

Get over. Stay in the pack. Don't go over 74mph.

Having a MA plate in ME is the equivalent of being a 12 point buck in a clear field on the first day of gun season. Lay low.

I've seen many a speed trap between exit 3 and 4 on 91 in VT.

In NH, pretty much anywhere between the MA state line and Lincoln is fair game for cops. North of the Notch I've never seen a cop in the 25ish times I've been through there. However, be careful at night anyways as the moose can be a lot more costly than a ticket lol.

Having a ski rack does not help either.

I should also add 95 as you cross the bridge into Maine. On the road to Sunday River, 26 North after Poland where the road starts climbing hills and the downward slope as you get to the tubing park on the side of the road.

A Vermont bit of useful information:

A speed ticket on the interstate highways in Vermont is only 2 points. The ticket may be expensive but you at least can rack up quite a few of them before accumulating the 10 points where you lose your license.

20 mph over on a secondary road is 5 points. Two of those and you're a pedestrian. It's really easy to space out and be going 45 in a 25 zone

Vermont DUI law reads "blood alcohol content of 0.08 OR driving under the influence". You don't have to be 0.08 to get cuffed and driven to the state police barracks.

=====================================================================

I use the cruise control on secondary roads in Vermont. I drive at exactly the speed limit. They won.

It is also only 2 points in 50mph zones in Vermont.

Pretty sure the non interstate speed limit max's out at 50 in Vermont so if you are busting it any faster than 60, and certainly 65 off the highway, you are game to get bagged.

Other than interstates, isn't the speed limit in Vt 50 MPH, unless otherwise noted?

FYI I got nabbed on the way up to BW on 93N right at the Campton (Waterville) exit. Seeing as my very reliable V1 detector didn't go off before I saw a NH trooper in the road motioning me over I was curious as to how they got me. As the trooper politely informed me, that stretch of 93 is patrolled by aircraft and some bastard with a VASCAR clock had me going 80 like three miles back.

When they catch me fair and square, by pacing or with a gun, that's one thing. When they need a two hundred thousand dollar airplane to beat my $400 detector, I get kinda pissed off.

Moral of the story, watch out for those perpendicular lines on the highway, they're there for a reason.

got pulled over there at 6am on Easter Sunday one year...it was also daylight savings...I was the only car on the road, Metallica was cranking...going 10 over. I never go 26 anymore...too many cops and/or slow moving locals with nowhere to go anytine soon.
