NH staties have been really active on 101 between epping and manchester lately...almost always see at least one on the way to and from the office...sometimes as many as 4.

I've seen many a speed trap between exit 3 and 4 on 91 in VT.

In NH, pretty much anywhere between the MA state line and Lincoln is fair game for cops. North of the Notch I've never seen a cop in the 25ish times I've been through there. However, be careful at night anyways as the moose can be a lot more costly than a ticket lol.
Yea, I-93 is pretty much open game. Manchester at between the 93/101 merge and the tolls is a hot spot because much of that stretch is 55 even though it looks and feels like it is still 65. Its not just in the Authorized Vehicles pass bys either, I have seen them get real creative. North of the notch, you are not home free. I have seen Franconia cops busting folks on I-93. NH Troppers LOVE the first bridge after the Littleton exit. I used to live in StJ and drove to Littleton a LOT and they were ALWAYS busting people there. There is a barracks off 302 in Bethleham...

The Route 4 trap going into Woodstock, VT is probably the worst.

I have never gotten a ticket but I frequently drive +5. I don't really watch out for speed traps because I generally don't have anything to worry about. They are usually looking for the folks seriously killing the limit. And I am cool with that.

Worst area in NH for getting pulled over for speeding is Route 49 from Campton to Waterville Valley. It is SO HARD to drive the speed limit on 49. But damned if I ever drive 1 MPH over the limit on that road. Way too risky. I probably see a cop on that stretch of road at least 25% of the time. Though within that 25% of the time, 90% of the time they have already pulled someone else over....

When I used to live in MA, I found driving Route 16 to be particularly prone to Staties. One time I think I counted over half a dozen Troopers just going north alone, not counting the drive back. I keep it around the limit on Route 16 when I am over that way.

K Mart customers I suppose?

One of the resorts in So. Vt. (don't recall which) used to have a warning about a certain section of Rte. 2 in Mass. on their web page directions. I remember it was up for about a year, then they took it down.

Maybe Berkshire East? Charlemont(sp?) is still a big time speedtrap.

Having a NY state license, there is no reciprocity for speeding out of state.

If I get a speeding ticket outside of NY at least there is NO points on my NY state drivers license and my car insurance payments won't go up.

I don't know how it works if you have a drivers license in other states. Its not too hard to research it and find out.

I couldn't believe the ticket I got driving along 28 towards Belleayre. I was going too fast. I think 12 mph (?). The speed limit goes up and down constantly between 40 and 50, so it's easy to screw up. At the time I got pulled over we were actually talking about trying to avoid a ticket.

The whole deal with paying a local lawyer $600 to escape the points just didn't feel right. It's priced "perfectly" because the ticket, and insurance costs are about $1000 (over three years), so you go for it. It saves you a long drive to appear in court.

I understand that the economy is in tough shape in the Cats. But I was coming to help.

The efficiency of the ticket writing was astounding. The officer has a printer in the car and the whole thing took about a minute.

In New Hampshire, beware of Route 113/25, between South Tamworth and Route 16 especially. Do the speed limit, the cops up here will pull you over for practially anything. I was told by a lawyer that this is the highest grossing road in the state of New Hampshire in terms of tickets. I have been pulled over on this road, friends have been pulled over, and even my parents have been pulled over on this road. Needless to say I fought the ticket and essentially won, no need to pay a fine and no insurance increase. The Statie's in this area won't even bother with giving you a warning, just straight up ticket.

Speedlimit constantly jumps from 55 to 25 etc, yet I was pulled over in a 55 zone.

FYI I got nabbed on the way up to BW on 93N right at the Campton (Waterville) exit. Seeing as my very reliable V1 detector didn't go off before I saw a NH trooper in the road motioning me over I was curious as to how they got me. As the trooper politely informed me, that stretch of 93 is patrolled by aircraft and some bastard with a VASCAR clock had me going 80 like three miles back.

When they catch me fair and square, by pacing or with a gun, that's one thing. When they need a two hundred thousand dollar airplane to beat my $400 detector, I get kinda pissed off.

Moral of the story, watch out for those perpendicular lines on the highway, they're there for a reason.

A buddy of mine, his Dad will drive faster on cloudy days when it's too cloudy for a helicopter. Pretty ridiculius that they spend this much money to ticket people, but it is true, especially up in NH.

Down the cape, the EPA has been known to chase dirtbikers by Helicopter... as if that's being sustainable
