Just saw one for a Lysol antibacterial soap dispenser that has a touch sensor so you don't have to touch the germy dispenser to get the antibacterial soap.

Setting aside my issues with antibacterial soaps (plain soap does a great job), if the Lysol product works so well, why in the name of all that's good and holy would you need to avoid touching germs?

I am so glad I don't watch TV. Gave it up as a teenager, I felt like they were directing their programming to an idiot. Well, I'm an idiot, but I don't like being told I am! ;)

Usually on as background noise- like tonight, making fresh pasta, the machine's so loud you can't hear the TV, but How It's Made can be half watched with no volume.

Vanilla Ice has a show on DIY now, apparently, as a "successful general contractor,:" he's renovating houses, I guess. Like a rapping Mike Holmes or something.

We were watching the news while making dinner last night...I had to change the channel. There seems to be less of a certain type of ad on cable. Plus, cable has the "made for TV" market locked. ShamWow FTW.

I don't watch much TV. I never watch networks....and I most certainly NEVER watch any cable "news" shows. (what an oxymoron that is!!!). The only TV news I will watch on rare occasions (other than local weather) is Euronews.

I watch PBS and a few various science related shows, on Discovery or other similar stations. I don't really watch much mainstream sports anymore...I watch Universal Sports than any other station, by far!

Likewise, other than 2 news stations to get the local morning traffic, I don't listen to radio, other than 2 Public Radio Stations....WFUV and WNYC.

Any other TV/radio mainstream media makes me gag let alone scream at the TV.

Just wondering what either of these posts have to do with the topic at hand?

I'm with Mondeo on the political ads.

Mainly it's about catching these types of commercials a lot because I tend to watch a lot of TV at night..

Yeah - I woke up with the TV on the other night and Palidino was on... scared the crap of of me..

Certain ads that will mercifully stop in a little under two weeks. And I yell at all of them.

Agreed! :uzi:

Not only do they make me want to throw stuff at the TV, but they make me want to strangle certain people who shall remain nameless.

I'm a major channel flipper, too- as soon as a commercial comes on, I'm gone, usually. As a result, rarely if ever do I see an entire episode of anything. It does make it that much more jarring when a stupid commercial comes on, since I haven't been desensitized to them.

I never watch commercials. TiVo only. And now we have a DVR thing at the other house. Only time I see commercials is if we watch the Pats game.

Like DMC, I like TV at night. My limit is the nightly news, maybe Jon Stewart, maybe Jeopardy and one hourly program. TiVo has made this possible no matter what time I get home from work. : )

And yes, I yell at the Jeopardy contestants.

IMHO, one of the few good things those folks whose adds make us want to scream and yell at the TV (atleast for the next 12 days) have done recently is recently pass the new law that says that those other commercials that make us want to scream and yell at the TV, and will still be playing after Nov 2nd, CAN'T be made/broadcast at a volume greater than what the normal TV signal goes out at!

I really, really want to scream and yell when those commercials come on and the increased volume just overwhelms you and sends you grabbing for the volume/mute button on the remote
