Does anybody know of a race calendar?

I am looking for a calendar that shows the location and dates of the Nastar races throughout the New England region. I am trying to avoid the host mountain on those days as it creates crowded slopes, reduced table space, reduced trail count and other issues. I ran into big races at B East, Jimminy, Wachusett (there is always an event there), and somewhere else last season. Nice people, but it added more chaos than I prefer. Any tips on finding a race calendar for the Northeast 2010/2011 season? Thanks Tim

NASTAR schedules vary, but are regular occurances at each mountain. For instance, Pat's Peak has races ever night, Monday-Thursday, with family races on Sat. So location is pretty much all over. It's not like Masters, where the races are hosted at different mountains each time.

I see

I have to check each induvidual mountains website for events before I decide where to go that weekend. Bummer, I thought id find a nice tidy list to make it easier to decide. Anybody else have any tips? Maybe a racer can give me some input. Remember, I have nothing against racers, they are nice, polite trail users. i just want to avoid the extra crowds they inevitably create.

Nastar is not what you are looking to avoid. Jiminy does not have Nastar racing. Nastar is when a course is set up and you can pay to run the course. I am guessing you ran into club racing.

Is as close as you'll get. I had to use this and then make my own calendar when I was racing around in Nastar.

The mountains you mentioned are all smaller mountains. Explains why you noticed it. The positive is, the races are regularly scheduled on specific days and times. For example:

Wawa: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting at 11 a.m. Specific course dedicated during races.

Suprised you mentioned it being a crowd, however. Are you sure it was NASTAR, and not one of the Mass race leagues? Or did you just happen to be using the same lifts they where using?

I didn't even think about that. How do they score their beer league, anyway?

The Thurs. night beer league(I am a member of it) is not associated with Nastar. They use the timing systems for the club racing.

All Nastar is, is a organization that links race courses so you can compete with people at other mountains.

I second this comment. I doubt what tmcc ran into was NASTAR as that wouldn't tend to clog up an area as it's low-key. Depending upon the time of day it could be anything from adult "beer league" racing in the evening to USSA races or Buddy Werner league type kid races during the day. Another thing could be the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge as that gets kind of crazy sometimes.

If you're scouting NH sites, check out the NHARA racing site as they have their race schedules up now at www.nhara.org. Mt. Dew Vertical Challenge eastern tour schedule can be found off of a link on the snocountry.com website.
