The canadian mountain that gets number one every year. Does anyone know if they have adult bars like in Montreal?

bar scenes in tremblant is very good. better than most i'd say in NE. a lotta people rate it high for family accommodations, but a lotta young people hang out.

Seems like we've done similar threads before, but:

1. Smuggs
2. Sugarloaf
3. Saddleback
4. Cannon
5. Wildcat

1-2 are easy, though I'm not totally set on the order. 3-5 are tougher. I haven't skied anywhere in NH or Maine, so those are the obvious choices. Maybe I could put Burke on there instead though.

I'm having trouble keeping this to just 5:

1. MRG
2. Loaf
3. Magic
4. Cannon
5. Smuggs

Honorable mentions: Everywhere else in NH, incl. the Balsams; Tremblant, Le Massif, Mt. St. Anne, Dartmouth (from a rival college standpoint!), Middlebury.

And locally, Campgaw.

that lists surprises me because from what I know about you, all those areas seem right up your alley. I would've thought for certain you'd been to half if not more of those.

I always like to try new places and had a blast in Rangleye Maine last March at Saddleback and Sugarloaf.

Haven't been to NH or up the St. Lawrence yet, so here's my list:
Wildcat
Cannon
Loon
Le Massif
Ste. Anne

Woody

Edit: ! I see that I posted on this thread back at the end of October. Well, 4 out of 5 of my choices still match.

In no particular order:

Sugarloaf (going this year)
Sunday River (ditto)
Loon (ditto)
Saddleback (may be going)
Whiteface (may be going)

This makes it more than five, but I'd also like to hit Le Massif and Bretton Woods (I'm going to the latter in February).

Looks like a pretty good year for me! :)

4. Mt. Washington from the summit
Even though it didn't hit the summit, it's too bad they don't run the Cog Ski Train any more. It looked so cool.

My list, in no particular order:

Magic - because of all the hype
Jay Peak- because of all that supposed snow
Sunday River - because it's just marketed really well.
Saddleback - because it just looks damn fun
Cannon - simply because I've never been there

Surprised to hear so many people want to hit Berkshire East? I did a day trip there a few years ago- it's a fun little place, but doesn't seem like a "destination." Are people just looking to cross it off a list? Or did I totally miss out on something special there?

Definitely a day trippers mountain. A good place to go when things align and you need to avoid masses, or simply want low key skiing and boarding. Also a good place to save money. According to their GM, they have a lot of new stuff, including glades that makes it worth a look again. He'll be at our Feb 1st meeting, so we get to grill him first-hand.

Yeah, the price is definitely attractive- it was lots of fun for the $. I'd like to revisit it at some point when conditions are enticing.
