Is this season that unusual for the Northeast? I've been skiing for 3 decades on and off. Mostly the Catskills some scattered weekends in VT (excluding going out West). I seem to recall lots of winters with very bare trails and almost no days in the woods. At least we have good groomers as grooming has gotten much better. I've skied some decent bumps at Belleayre othis year. Can't complain to much.

I think in most bad winters we still get more snow after warm up and rain storms, but this winter has produced very little snow, then because last winter was better then average snow and cold and that is in every ones memory making it even harder to deal without real snow.

Go skiing anyway.

Wish I could say it's more straightforward than that but it is quite complicated. Buses are getting cancelled from NE MA going up to the big resorts left and right. Only bus group running generally is BSSC and that's probably because they sell their daily deal (through BWM and Living Social) which what drives traffic for them as people commit before the season starts to the first trip (although of course this is tough to tell what effect there is exactly but there first ski dating bus got cancelled even before I got to book it). The one I usually go with (Nacski) is usually running a bus each weekend day by now but only has run 3 buses total (which they should be at around 10-12 or so right now) and is not running anything this weekend as Saturday's (2/4) bus is now cancelled even though the cost is $67 when booking amongst the first 25 seats (and the trip is a definite go after they sell out of this first block in which case the price then goes up $10).

So my trips will be limited until winter gets into full swing unless I find free vouchers from a promo which will drive me to my car with gas now at $3.50/gal which now makes the buses relatively an attractive bargain for me.
