I don't know about the back-end stuff but the UI works well enough..

Most of my company uses IOS(iPhone/iPad)...
Also works well on my MAC.. Have full Outlook/Office..

Not to side track things but....I manage all our wireless device security for the bank I work at iOS definitely gives me the most problems. We block users from our network during the night for data backups and the iPhone continues to try to check for new emails even when the our server is unavailable which inevitably locks the user out on a regular basis. All the devices are set to push as well. It happens at random and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Never have this problem with the Android or Windows devices we support. Just one of a few annoyances with iOS. Sorry for turning AZ into CNET!

I keep mine in an inner pocket and usually put it on airplane mode too. Never had a problem with it dying but I also only use it to check the time occasionally when on the mountain.

That stuff never happens to me thank god..
So far so good.. But again - I'm just a user and 90% of the employees of our company use IOS.. Hope they aren't freaking out too much about this...

Back on track...
The new Morphie Juice Pack for iPhone 5 is available..
I used one with my last phone and it was pretty sweet... Extends battery and protects the phone..

havent had a chance to use the mophie juice pack on the slopes so i cant speak to its capacity. I like the form factor and weight. it allows you to charge the phone with the case on. what I dont like is that the connector is a micro usb instead of the lightening connector, so it is not compatible with my car (It charges but doesnt allow to control the music through the car display). That is annoying as is the need for an adapter to fit in the headphone jack.

I tend to use the iPhone without it - so I charge it separately..
I charge the pack and the phone at the same time..
And keep it in my bag just in case for work or in my ski locker for happy hour..

I also have a couple extra Mophie battery packs that you can plug any USB in to.. Great to help other people out in a bind and good for those LONG trips where I know I need my stuff but won't be sure if I can plug in.. Now almost all planes have plugs and I have club memberships at airports so I can always find power..
For concerts I attach it and I don't turn it on until I'm almost out of juice....

As far as connecting to my car - I guess I'm lucky.. I use bluetooth to connect for calls and music..

I waited for the iphone5 compatible pack so i wouldnt have to remove the case from the phone, ever. I can connect the phone to the car via bluetooth but then cant control the phone via the car's display.

In a serendipitous bit of timing after reading this thread, I was at Starbucks this morning and a woman from duracell gave me a free powermat case. Nice little hook to spend the 30 bucks for a home powermat, but does make charging easier while out and about.

NICE - You can find them at the Air Clubs and restaurants at Airports..

Since you have a Galaxy Nexus (which has a user replaceable battery), just get another battery and universal charger.

this is my favorite solution, just keep the spare in your pocket when you're skiing and swap out when the first battery gets low

I have the same phone and I have battery life issues on the slopes also. I think it's specifically a big drain to move around fast on the mountain because it jumps between several weak cellular signals.

FYI you probably don't care, but the 3rd party batteries for the GN don't support NFC. I am satisfied with my two oem packs.

iPhone users should definitely upgrade to the new IOS - it really seems to save battery...

I finally updated to it last night. Did it update anything else, it just said about the battery on the description.

That was it..

Unfortunately I don't think it fixed the security bug which is more of a concern.
It's not an online attack it's a passcode screen attack - so keep an eye on your phone... :(
