skied four (Whistler, JH, Taos and Baker) of ten - can I get .5 credit for having skied Alta multiple times but never snowbird? Love to get back to Taos -amazing terrain. Baker is great but couldn't venture outside the ski boundaries when I was there.

Good Job!

You might be the only member of the entire forum to bitch about a discussion about places most either love or would love to ski out west.

Congrats!

Another attack by a moderator. Good job to you too! As one of the few remaining mods that actually still lives in the East, I expect better from you.

Fact is, I just thought it was kind of funny. That's all.

I think I'm gonna try to get to one of these resorts next winter.
Probably only have enough cash for about a week. Anybody have any thoughts on which to choose? I'll be going with the wife and 16 yo son. It has to have some easy stuff for the wife , but me and the boy do pretty well on everything . We'd like to see some pow and would prob go during mass school vacation(feb I think)

I've only been to Jackson Hole and only once but what a place. All areas have some green and blue terrain - Jackson is no exception. On a day off from skiing we took a snowmobile tour at Yellowstone (don't know if they do that anymore) that was a blast. If I had the money I'd go back.

My second choice would be Revelstoke. It has nothing to do with what I've read about the place - remote with endless terrain but it has absolutely the coolest name.

Snowbird for sure. Stay the valley at a hotel for 10 days for $400, ski bus to all 4 500 inch average snow mountains. Less then 30 minutes from SLC.

This is sort of a (former) homer response, but Squaw is awesome (and so is neighboring Alpine Meadows). You and your boy will find all the challenging terrain you can handle, and the weather will not disappoint: it is almost always sunny. Unless it's dumping. You may be able to find cheap accommodations at one of the casinos in Crystal Bay, NV, and I believe there is shuttle service to the resorts. Not to mention that the casinos have really cheap meals... If you can afford to stay right in Olympic Valley, that's all the better!

If money and logistics aren't an issue, I can't imagine anyplace has a greater snow-to-people ratio than interior British Columbia.

Realistically though, I don't know why you would go anywhere other than Utah.

Maybe up Shames way, but certainly not Whistler. Longest line Ive ever waited in was at that place on a pow day.

Yeah, interior BC is amazing. Did safari type trips 4 years in a row. Indeed the snow-to-people ratio is excellent, though Kicking Horse is becoming more popular every year. Only reason I'd go back to Utah is it's easy to get to. Did a nice WY/ID trip this year, lots of lesser known places out there with minimal crowds also.
