You know how Stratton rolls. Gotta have edge to edge deep coverage before any snowmaking routes get open. And they sure as hell ain't opening anything on 10'' of natural.

No 20 laps by 1pm home by dinner for you!
I'd think 6" (or more) of natural snow on top of what they've already made on Suntaner would be enough to get to the bottom. Oh well. At least they're offering refunds on lodging for those that booked this weekend.

no doubt they could open a few routes. But with only 1 or 2 ways down and one of the trails probably closed for SMS training it would be a clusterfuck even by Stratton standards.
If this storm delivers I might go up for a couple of days to Skin the Kidderbrook /Sunbowl side.

Here’s how it looked today, wondering if they surprise everyone and pull the trigger Friday.

Good from afar, far from good. Light coat of white spray paint on dirt/grass. Elevation storm coming in, likely 4-8" of wet snow down low where they REALLY need it.

Realistically going to take them 48hrs of snowmaking to make enough sizeable piles to push together so after an hour it's NOT down to dirt. Sunday at the earliest. Gotta bring Stratton level snow surfaces.

If this was Magic, different standards 😉

some rentals abandoned in the side country. They were buried under the leaves. I pulled this one out for identification. Look like maybe 10+ years old? Ski sundown rentals

Just say no to ducking ropes kids!

More inbound glades well trimmed. I was able to find a new entrance (for me) to an on map glade.

I was scouting some areas well OB that might be fun for a day or 2 with the split.

Beautiful snow on the mountains and tough to not have lifts spinning.

Ursa not yet done so Gondi and Snowbowl for Sunday summit access. They’re making snow on Spruce and West Meadow - hard to tell if others. Not sure what else they might have, though from what I skied at Bromley today they could open some upper mountain trails on natural. Not sure they will, but they could IMHO
