John,

If this is actually you, congrats for coming to AZ and joining the community. Win was a frequent poster and generated a ton of good will by being as friendly and transparent as he could be. I think it's smart to be out talking to people in the skiing community. I look forward to getting up to Sugarbush and hopefully we can meet up for a few runs!

If this isn't you, it's a world class troll job. I tip my cap to you and say well played sir!

John B did have a real profile on here previously...but he only posted a handful of times. I'm fairly sure this new profile is someone having some fun and not really John.

John H had a real profile too, but I think he made 1 post and had enough of us lol.

These are the guys who ruin the uphill travel policy. It’s great that Jay and other mountains give more freedom to travel across more of the mountain, and now I see why we don’t have it at Sugarbush. Here we have people snowplowing down North Lynx in broad daylight…

Hope springs eternal that it’s a legit account. Folks here miss the direct connection.

The fact that it says "Shameless parody" in the signature should be a pretty good tip off!

But agreed, would be nice if they would participate here and contribute.
Ah, got it. I only skimmed the post, but I was thinking it was a parody post as well. The poster responded directly to my criticism and I was hoping that at least it got their attention so that those of you who are loyal regulars could be heard. But alas it is only comic relief.

Yep. I posted that in the Jay thread. I also mentioned an incident at Sugarbush several years ago where, despite repeated warnings of "don't skin up or ski through active snowmaking operations", someone could not help himself and skinned right up Lower Organgrinder over multiple snowmaking lines and right in the middle of an area covered by active snowguns with employees standing by. You can't fix stupid.

While yes, Mainstream/Straight Shot/etc take a lot of work, you technically don't need them to open ME. You can upload/download on GMX and ski off the summit chair. Easier/better setup than doing the same at LP using HG and Bravo.

I still would be surprised if they pivot to ME, although if they did I'd be somewhat impressed that they finally decided to be be more flexible. It would still be weird as I suspect it would be only a temporary pivot to ME until they get LP open and then ME would close until the normal opening date. They likely couldn't justify the cost of running both mountains at this point and I don't see them sticking with ME once LP had sufficient T2B coverage. (Although I would gladly love to be proven wrong).

Now that said, if they can't get a single skiable route on LP ready by 11/22 (even just off the summit to the base of HG) meanwhile other places can get multiple routes open, that really speaks volumes to their snow-making challenges/limitations.
For sure opening ME would be logistically possible. Downloading GMX would be fine it’s been done before. No need for bales of hay this year. And I understand the upper mountain is in great shape. Maybe we’ll be surprised.

I always thought it would be cool to switch off between Ellen and Lincoln Peak early season for more variety, and the an extra powder day a season. But I could also see it being a huge pain, and I am sure there is stuff that is normally set up or put away when meanwhile LP is open that is essential.

MrGlen I know your new on here so I will just give a kind heads up. You posting this tying to out people is what get's the mountain in an uproar. This forces them to do something because you put it on a public website. In the past they turned a blind eye to the locals skiing if they were respectful, were aware of on mountain operations and stayed away. It was a don't ask don't tell kind of thing. Now because of the internet and people hell bent on posting the "look at me" videos, it has forced their hands. It's simple, don't post this kind of thing.
