The Mt Ellen thing is not that crazy. They have not blown nearly enough yet to open Gate house and there is a R#$* event on the horizon. They have blown upper mountain at Lincoln peak but do not have the connection done all the way down to the HG lift base yet. I was told that they do have a good cover on Rim run down to the summit lift and they are working on Elbow. With all employee's scheduled to start for this weekend, they have to do something or waste valuable $$. You know they hate to do that.

Not to be disagreeable... It is very unlikely a Mount Ellen opening will happen. Years ago the decision was made to shift the amenities and focus to LP when it was built out. All their early season eggs are now squarely in that basket. While I agree ME is in great shape. Skinnable/skiable bottom to top and back. Mainstream/Times Square/Cracky or Stright Shot take a lot of work. Not something achievable with this week's forecast. I will repeat myself from last week. The most likely opening option will be skiing upper mountain off bravo. Murphy's->Allyn's Traverse->Heaven's Gate Traverse-> HG lift->Jester. Then a boot hike up to Bravo's newly constructed download deck. Maybe, just maybe they will open Downspout ungroomed. Again, marginal base area temps are in the forecast. There's just not enough time to cover all that acreage.

We will see. Gatehouse is not even remotely close and the upper mountain route you talk about above has a long way to go. I took all my stuff home a couple of weeks ago so I can point my car in any direction. As of today Killington has 20 trails and Sunday River has 3 with 3 more opening soon.

Sounds worth the $129 they are charging for a ticket next weekend…

Boy, you are an angry troll. You should go to talk therapy rather than come in here and stir up shit when you are having a bad day.

No, I am not pissed at all, just having a conversation as this is something called a chatroom. We talk about skiing. Of course, what you were hoping was that you would piss me off. Nice try.

You're much more likable when you talk about skiing rather than being an asshole to people and trying to pick fights.

Oh settle down Francis. You have about 30k posts that are consistently negative, and an obsession with Alterra and Vail and how they've ruined skiing.

To the point that an unverified rumor (and that is being generous) on a message board prompts you calling the entire marketing department incompetent ("amateur hour" in your words).

So deal with it when people don't like your additions to the discussion. That isn't trolling, that is your thin skin showing.

As usual, half-baked comments, AR. You always are Mr. Know-it All, but it's not hard to get beyond that facade. Most of my 30,000 comments are not at all negative or obsessed with Vail or Alterra. It's kind of like how you recently made a comment about "literally everyone" gets an IKON just to ski at Jackson and that is laughable. Many folks here said that was not the case at all for them. Of course when we call you out you just disappear. I would think you have more constructive things to do than trying to engage in flame wars with people. How about focusing on your job?

Hey, amateur hour is a bit harsh guys, I've been at Sugarbush since 2011. Just wait until we're lapping powder together on the brand new Easy Up at Mt. Ellen! I know I can't wait! Get stoked! See you all this weekend!

John,

If this is actually you, congrats for coming to AZ and joining the community. Win was a frequent poster and generated a ton of good will by being as friendly and transparent as he could be. I think it's smart to be out talking to people in the skiing community. I look forward to getting up to Sugarbush and hopefully we can meet up for a few runs!

If this isn't you, it's a world class troll job. I tip my cap to you and say well played sir!
