Yeh, expect the concern would be lower elevations without a base getting scraped real quick.

The other option may be opening Sensation on Saturday. They've been blowing Main St ttb to get that area online for early season race training. Opens an 'expert' run and spreads out the crowd away from Mansfield.
Thats a pipe dream.

e p i c opening report. @kingslug you still have a condo in town... asking for a friend!

Thanks to Mother Nature for laying down a record deep snowpack for this time of year, and the incredible work of our snowmaking team, we are excited to announce that we plan to have over 50 trails open on Friday, totaling 20+ miles and 225 acres of terrain!

On Mount Mansfield, that includes groomed snowmaking routes like Lord, North Slope, Sunrise and Standard, plus a wide variety of terrain that will be open on natural snow such as Nosedive, Hayride, and the fabled Front Four.

Sad news: I can't play hooky tomorrow and I have to work Saturday too.

Good news: Off Sunday and Monday so room is booked for Sunday night and I will be playing soon enough!

Honestly not really all that bothered by missing out on tomorrow. I'm sure it's gonna be quite the zoo the next couple days. I am also sure that when I got to the top of run #1 I would have inevitably went right back down Liftline and my legs would have been ruined the rest of the day from now doing anything for the last 7 months. I will probably be better off kind of easing in on Sunday with a mix of groomers and nats. Weather looks good so the coverage should have on pretty well I would think. I can't see many trails that are open tomorrow being lost by Sunday.

Hope all who make it out tomorrow have a blast!

I'm out as well and will be watching the socials. First trip up is always the week before Xmas for me.

You should be in great shape for what's open.

I'm the same for first run with ideas to ease into the season, yet my skis head directly to Hayride and off we go...

Enjoy!

Jealous...save some snow for me Sunday! How were the front four holding up later in the day? Hoping the snow is pretty dense and didn't get beat up too bad.

Looks like a little refresher coming in Sunday. If it's anything like last year, the forecasted 3-5" will probably triple itself somehow.

Even the legendary Dalton is open.

It got warm this afternoon so conditions will probably be a little weird on natural snow tomorrow morning.

The first few storms were pretty dense so there's a solid base to work with!

Awesome day. I’m curious to see how the snow is tomorrow after the warm up in the afternoon. Certainly got heavy down low. No complaints though! Best pre-Thanksgiving skiing I’ve experienced. IMG_6816.jpegIMG_6817.jpeg
